CarGurus Analysis: 2018 Nissan Titan

Summary
With 130 currently listed for sale near Macon, GA and an average price of $29,850, 30.0% of 2018 Nissan Titans for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2018 Nissan Titan 5 / 5 stars.
73.1% of 2018 Titan models on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2018 Nissan Titan stands out as a full-size truck that pairs a strong V8 with a more comfortable, better-equipped cabin than many buyers might expect. It came with a 5.6-liter V8 rated at 390 horsepower and 394 lb-ft of torque, along with a seven-speed automatic transmission, and all trims were available with rear- or four-wheel drive. Nissan also gave the truck a refreshed interior with the gearshift moved to the column, a center console large enough to store a 15-inch laptop, and Zero Gravity seats, which helped make the Titan feel more upscale and practical than its work-truck mission might suggest.
For 2018, the Titan’s appeal also came from its mix of useful standard equipment and off-road-friendly hardware. Bluetooth phone connectivity, push-button ignition, and a back-up camera were included, while available features ranged from GPS navigation and SiriusXM Satellite Radio to an electronic locking rear tailgate, an electric locking rear differential, hill descent control, and a trailer tow package with an integrated trailer brake controller. The Titan also offered a unique UtiliTrack-channel system and in-bed cargo boxes for better load management. Its drawbacks were just as clear: the truck was criticized for poor ride quality, limited configurability, and plasticky interior materials, and it was also noted for poor fuel economy and a lack of alternative engines.

As a 5 time Nissan buyer this is my second Titan. Too many truck owners only stick with what they know....which costs them lots of money. My last Titan is still on the road with 370,000 kms with only a power steering pump needing replacement about 3 years ago...thats it...nothing else! How many big three truck Owners can say that? I bet very few. Strong engine, strong truck, no problems.

I own a 2018 Titan SV 4x4. It currently is at 76k miles. I have driven all of the Big 3 at my job. The Titan rides better and quieter than the others. The seats are hands down more comfortable than any competitor. Fuel mileage is on par with the Big 3, except for the Ford EcoBoost. The truck will do everything you ask of it. The 100k mile bumper to bumper warranty is second to none, although Ive not needed it in the 76k miles of my trucks life. I will own another Titan after this one.

| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $22,062 |
| Year-Round Low | $21,939.85 |
| Year-Round High | $23,322.04 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $23,276 |

Prices have softened 5.22% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.
There are 1,183 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for comparison shopping.
If you find a listing below $21,939.85, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
Is the 2018 Nissan Titan a good car?
Yes — the 2018 Nissan Titan earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction.
Owners consistently praise its smooth ride, quiet interior, and comfortable seating. The truck also gets credit for strong performance, towing capacity, and overall value, especially when you compare it with rivals. For you, that means it fits best if you want a full-size truck that feels more comfortable and well-equipped than purely utilitarian alternatives.
30.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so you still have room to shop selectively.
Is the 2018 Nissan Titan reliable?
Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
User feedback also highlights reliability, along with a powerful engine and a truck that owners feel good about recommending. The recurring themes of dependable performance and trouble-free ownership matter if you plan to keep the truck for the long haul.
For used buyers, that kind of owner confidence can reduce the risk of unexpected ownership headaches, especially if the truck has been maintained well.
What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Nissan Titan?
At 64.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection so you can catch hidden body, frame, or repair issues. Focus on overall condition, maintenance records, and signs of inconsistent wear, since those details matter more when a truck has a mixed history.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Nissan Titan?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on the right truck.

- Clean inventory: 64.8% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $21,939.85, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2018 Nissan Titan's resale value?
The current average of $22,062 sits slightly below last year's $23,276.
That softer pricing suggests the Titan has lost some market value over the past year, which can be a mixed signal for future sellers. On one hand, it may limit short-term upside if you buy now and try to resell soon. On the other hand, the lower entry price can help you buy at a more favorable point in the cycle.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2018 Nissan Titan or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2018 if:
- 30.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 64.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 5.22% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
Consider the 2017 if:
- At $19,423, the 2017 costs less than the current year's $22,062 average.
- It offers a redesigned, overlooked full-size truck with real capability.
The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2018 if you want the stronger current-market balance of price, inventory, and owner satisfaction. If your priority is spending less upfront, the 2017 is the better secondary path, especially if you find one in strong condition and can live with its older pricing and feature set.
