You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any reported damage was repaired properly. What is the 2018 Mercedes-Benz CLA's resale value?

The current average of $14,364 sits slightly below last year's $15,570.

That softer pricing suggests the model has become more accessible on the used market, which can help you buy at a lower entry point today. For a future seller, that also means resale value may depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the car has been maintained. If you keep the car clean, documented, and accident-free, you give yourself a better chance of standing out when it’s time to sell.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Mercedes-Benz CLA or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 32.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 47.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.75% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2017 if:

• At $12,690, the 2017 costs less than the current year's $14,364 average.
• It is the cheapest entry into the Mercedes brand.

The bottom line: You should start with the 2018 if you want the stronger current-market balance of price, inventory, and owner satisfaction. If your priority is spending less upfront, the 2017 is the better value-focused alternative.
