Is the 2018 Lexus NX reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Drivers describe it as stylish and luxurious, and the review summary points to a good driving experience along with strong gas economy. The overview also emphasizes an exceptional reliability record and a dependable ownership reputation, which is exactly the kind of language used when shoppers want a vehicle they can count on over time.

For used buyers, that combination suggests lower long-term ownership risk than you might expect from a luxury crossover, especially if the specific vehicle has been maintained well.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Lexus NX?

At 58.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can confirm accident records, title status, and ownership history before you commit. Then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, with extra attention to bodywork, panel alignment, and signs of uneven wear that could point to past damage or deferred maintenance. It also makes sense to focus on overall condition and service history, since the best used examples will usually be the ones that have been cared for consistently.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Lexus NX?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile opportunities.

• Deal availability: 36.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 734 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.55% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 58.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $21,031, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Lexus NX's resale value?

The current average of $21,734 sits slightly below last year's $22,534.

That softer pricing can work in your favor if you buy now, because you may be entering ownership at a more favorable cost basis than a year ago. For a future seller, the recent decline suggests resale values have eased, so condition, mileage, and maintenance history will matter even more when it comes time to list the vehicle. A well-kept example should still attract interest, especially if it presents as a clean, desirable trim with strong ownership appeal.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Lexus NX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 36.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 58.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.55% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2018 is a strong choice if you want the updated look, improved equipment, and a used price that has eased from last year. If your priority is stretching your budget as far as possible, a nearby older year may be worth considering, but the 2018 is the better all-around pick if you want the more modern version of the NX experience.
