Yes — the 2018 Lexus NX earns a 4.7/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Is the 2018 Lexus NX reliable?

The user feedback also points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with drivers highlighting the NX’s reliability and the confidence it inspires over time. For used buyers, the main risk is less about the model’s reputation and more about finding a well-kept example with clean maintenance and accident history.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Lexus NX?

At 58.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from cars with prior damage. After that, prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing price looks unusually attractive. Focus on overall condition, signs of past repairs, and whether the vehicle has been maintained consistently, since those factors matter more when you’re shopping a used luxury crossover.

What is the 2018 Lexus NX's resale value?

The current average of $21,749 sits slightly below last year's $22,506.

That softer pricing suggests the NX is in a buyer-friendly phase right now, which can help you enter at a more reasonable cost. For a future seller, the current trend means resale value may be steadier if the vehicle is well maintained and priced competitively. Strong condition, clean history, and desirable equipment should matter more when you eventually go to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Lexus NX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 34.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 58.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.36% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2018 is the right pick if you want the updated look, strong owner satisfaction, and a market that still offers some pricing leverage. If your priority is simply the lowest possible purchase price, a nearby year may be worth considering, but you should expect to trade off some of the 2018’s updated equipment and overall appeal.
