How much does the 2018 Honda Accord cost?

Prices have softened 3.66% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 3,826 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2018 Honda Accord a good car?

Yes — the 2018 Honda Accord earns a 4.72/5 user rating and an 8.17/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise its smooth ride, advanced technology, and ample interior space, and many also call out its sporty performance and upscale feel in higher trims. That lines up with the Accord’s use-case as a midsize family sedan that still feels rewarding to drive, not just practical. With 32.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, you also have a decent chance of finding one that fits your budget well.

Is the 2018 Honda Accord reliable?

Owners rate it 4.72/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a car that feels dependable, with praise centered on its smooth ride, roomy cabin, and overall satisfaction over time. The expert evaluation also describes the Accord as reliable and unpretentious, with a powertrain lineup that feels smooth and pleasant in everyday use. On the cost side, the model’s value proposition is reinforced by its upscale refinement and strong feature content for the money.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the specific car you choose has been maintained well and hasn’t been compromised by prior damage or neglected equipment.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Honda Accord?

At 50.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a car with a lower price or a higher trim level. Focus on condition, equipment operation, and signs of prior repair work, since the listing pool includes a substantial number of cars with accident history. It’s also smart to compare trim content carefully so you know which features are standard and which are missing on the version you’re looking at.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The cabin is described as elegant and upscale, with impeccable materials and fit, but the base LX misses Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Higher trims add more of the premium feel and equipment, and the Touring stands out with the most upscale presentation.
• Powertrain: The Accord uses two turbocharged 4-cylinder engines, with a 1.5-liter turbo in lower trims and a 2.0-liter turbo in higher trims. The 2.0-liter brings stronger output and a 10-speed automatic, while the 1.5-liter uses a CVT.
• Safety package: Honda Sensing comes standard on every Accord and includes auto-braking, forward collision alert, lane-departure warning with lane-keep assist, traffic-sign recognition, and adaptive cruise control. Blind-spot monitoring is standard on the 2.0T Sport and EX trims and above.
• Infotainment: Honda’s infotainment system is faster and easier to use than earlier versions, with a customizable home screen and standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto on all trims except the base LX. Wireless device charging is standard on the Touring and optional on other trims.
• Fuel efficiency: The 1.5T is rated at 30 mpg city and 38 mpg highway with the CVT, while the 2.0T automatic is rated at 23 mpg city and 34 mpg highway. Sport and Touring trims have lower ratings, as do the manuals.

Which 2018 Honda Accord trim should I buy?

The 2018 Honda Accord is offered in 5 trim levels: LX, Sport, EX, EX-L, Touring.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the entry point, but it’s the most stripped-down choice because it lacks Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It makes sense only if you want the lowest purchase price and can live without some of the newer convenience tech.
• Sport: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds more equipment and keeps the Accord’s engaging character intact. If you want the strongest mix of price, features, and driving enjoyment, this is the one to focus on.
• EX: This trim adds more comfort and convenience while staying below the pricier luxury-oriented versions. It’s a good middle ground if you want a more complete daily driver without stretching to the top end.
• EX-L: This is the better choice if you want a more upscale feel and more premium features. It suits you if comfort and refinement matter more than keeping the price as low as possible.
• Touring: This is the most fully equipped version, with the most premium presentation and features. Buy it if you want the most complete Accord experience and are willing to pay for it.

Blind-spot monitoring is standard on the 2.0T Sport and EX trims and above.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Honda Accord?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile deals.

• Deal availability: 32.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,826 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.66% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 50.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $17,542, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Honda Accord's resale value?

The current average of $17,896 sits slightly below last year's $18,576.

That decline suggests the market has softened, which can help you as a buyer today but may mean a future seller has less room to command a premium. Even so, the Accord’s broad appeal, strong reputation, and steady demand should help it remain relatively easy to resell compared with less desirable sedans. Well-equipped examples and clean-history cars should hold up better than rougher or less desirable ones.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.72/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2018 Honda Accord safe?

The 2018 Honda Accord is rated a Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, scoring the highest in all five crash tests and a separate crash-avoidance test that measures the auto-braking system.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Honda Sensing comes standard on every Accord and includes auto-braking, forward collision alert, lane-departure warning with lane-keep assist, traffic-sign recognition, and adaptive cruise control. Auto high beams, LED low-beam headlights, a driver attention monitor, and a backup camera with three views also come standard. Blind-spot monitoring is standard on the 2.0T Sport and EX trims and above.

A lower rating for the headlights kept the Accord from earning a Top Safety Pick+ rating, so that’s the main safety caveat to keep in mind.

Should I buy a 2018 Honda Accord or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 32.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 50.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.66% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.72/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2018 stands out as an all-new model with a fresh foundation, modern tech, and a more engaging driving character than many rivals.

The bottom line: The 2018 is the right pick if you want the newer-generation Accord feel, strong owner satisfaction, and a market that’s softened enough to create buying opportunities. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you can also use the current market to target a clean, well-priced example rather than paying up for a newer year.
