Based on the Silverado HD, the 2018 Sierra 2500HD ups the ante in terms of luxury, style, and price. The Sierra lineup got a full redesign in 2017, so changes for 2018 are minimal but worth noting. Base Sierra 2500HDs come with Bluetooth connectivity, cloth seats, and 7.0-inch infotainment screens, but things pick up quickly from there. The Sierra 2500HD SLE model adds keyless entry, a 4.2-inch driver info display, a remote locking tailgate, and an upgraded 8.0-inch infotainment screen, while the SLT model adds leather upholstery, remote start, and dual-zone automatic climate control. The SLT model is also available with the recently introduced All Terrain X HD package that is essentially a blackout treatment for the entire truck from top to bottom, including the wheels. The range-topping Denali model retains its popularity by offering luxuries deserving of its nearly $60,000 starting price. In addition to the comforts of the SLT, this well-appointed truck comes with heating and cooling for the front seats, a heated steering wheel, wireless charging, a navigation system, and a premium Bose stereo. While the powers that be don’t do the usual run of crash tests on a truck this size, the tests the Sierra has completed have yielded decent results. All Sierras come with a reversing camera, while the Denali gets active safety features like forward collision warning, lane departure warning, and parking assist front and back. Being a GM vehicle, OnStar is also an important feature to consider, and the Teen Driver Alert system is also available.
