How much does the 2018 Ford Transit Cargo cost?

Prices have softened 4.41% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,534 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2018 Ford Transit Cargo a good car?

Yes — the 2018 Ford Transit Cargo earns a 4.6/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners commonly praise its smooth ride, strong performance, and spacious interior, and many also like its handling compared with other vans. Deal availability is moderate, with 26.8% of listings marked as good or great deals.

Is the 2018 Ford Transit Cargo reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owners also describe it as smooth, strong, and easy to live with, with feedback that suggests it can be dependable for regular use when maintained properly. The main caution from owner feedback is to watch for maintenance-related concerns, including body damage and cleanliness. For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk is more about individual vehicle condition and upkeep than the model’s overall reputation.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Ford Transit Cargo?

At 64.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. A pre-purchase inspection should focus on body condition, signs of wear from work use, and cleanliness inside and out. Because this model is often used hard, condition matters as much as mileage.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Ford Transit Cargo?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to compare listings and wait for the right one.

• Deal availability: 26.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,534 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.41% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 64.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $17,695, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Ford Transit Cargo's resale value?

The current average of $17,810 sits slightly below last year's $18,631.

That softer pricing suggests the market has become a bit more favorable for buyers, but it can also mean future sellers may need to price competitively. If you buy well now, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation pressure later. Strong demand for a practical cargo van can help support resale, especially if the vehicle is clean and well maintained.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Ford Transit Cargo or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 26.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 64.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.41% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2017 if:

• At $17,010, the 2017 costs less than the current year's $17,810 average.
• It adds more standard equipment and convenience features for work-focused use.

The bottom line: You should start with the 2018 if you want the stronger current-market balance of price, inventory, and owner satisfaction. If your priority is spending less upfront, the 2017 is the better value-oriented path, especially if its added equipment fits your needs.
