How much does the 2017 Toyota Camry cost?

There are 2,379 listings available, which gives you a solid pool to compare prices and equipment.

Is the 2017 Toyota Camry a good car?

Yes — the 2017 Toyota Camry earns a 4.85/5 user rating and a 7.5/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Cost effectiveness and Safety.

Owners consistently praise its reliability, smooth ride, and comfortable interior, and they also value its good fuel economy and spacious trunk. That lines up well with a sedan aimed at commuting and daily family use, especially if you want a mature, well-rounded car rather than the newest redesign. You should expect a practical, easy-to-live-with sedan that still feels competitive in its class.

Only 30.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so the market has some value opportunities but rewards quick comparison shopping.

Is the 2017 Toyota Camry reliable?

Owners rate it 4.85/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback repeatedly points to reliability, and the car is also described as dependable transportation with a reputation for getting people from point A to point B reliably. The expert notes reinforce that theme by framing it as a mature, competent sedan that does its job well for daily commuting. Toyota’s value pitch also leans on its well-earned reputation for reliability.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about the powertrain and more about finding a well-kept example with the right maintenance history.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Toyota Camry?

At 49.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has had bodywork or multiple owners. Focus on overall condition, signs of prior repair, and whether the equipment level matches what you expect for the trim. Because the market includes a lot of mixed-condition inventory, the best buys are usually the cleanest, best-documented examples.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LE comes with halogen headlights, a reversing camera, remote keyless entry, a 6.1-inch touchscreen, woodgrain-style interior trim, and power locks and windows. The SE adds a sporty front-end look, 17-inch alloy graphite-look wheels, a sport-tuned suspension, chrome-tipped exhaust, and a rear spoiler. The XSE adds 18-inch machined alloy wheels, dual-zone climate control, and Ultrasuede front and rear seats, while another XSE configuration adds LED headlights, a smart key system, push-button start, leather-trimmed heated front seats, and a leather-trimmed steering wheel.
• Powertrain: The standard engine is a 2.5-liter inline 4-cylinder with 178 horsepower and 170 pound-feet of torque. XSE and XLE trims can also be equipped with an available 3.5-liter V6 that makes 268 horsepower and 248 pound-feet of torque. Power goes through a 6-speed automatic with manual tap-shift mode, and the SE and XSE add steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes vehicle stability control, traction control, 10 airbags, the LATCH child-seat anchoring system, a reversing camera, and a tire pressure monitoring system. Available driver assistance includes dynamic radar cruise control, lane-departure warning, automatic high beams, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. Lower trims do not get the full suite of advanced safety tech.
• Infotainment: The LE and SE use a 6.1-inch touchscreen with USB connectivity and Bluetooth hands-free calling with Siri EyesFree. The XSE and XLE upgrade to a 7-inch touchscreen with connected navigation, voice recognition, SiriusXM All Access, real-time traffic and weather updates, and a 10-speaker JBL premium audio system.
• Fuel efficiency: The 4-cylinder returns 24 mpg city, 33 highway, and 27 combined.

Which 2017 Toyota Camry trim should I buy?

The 2017 Toyota Camry is offered in 4 trim levels: LE, SE, XSE, and XLE.

Here's the short version:

• LE: This is the value-focused choice if you want the lowest entry price and a solid standard equipment list, including a reversing camera, touchscreen, Bluetooth, and keyless entry. It makes the most sense if you care more about dependable transportation than extra style or tech.
• SE: This trim adds a sportier look, a sport-tuned suspension, and paddle shifters, so it suits you if you want a little more personality without moving too far up the price ladder.
• XSE: This is the best-value pick if you want the richer cabin and stronger feature mix, including the larger touchscreen, navigation, JBL audio, dual-zone climate control, and available V6 power. It gives you the most complete blend of comfort and equipment.
• XLE: Choose this if you want the more upscale, comfort-oriented setup with the larger screen and available V6, and you care more about refinement than sporty styling.

The safety package is strongest on trims that include the available driver-assistance features, so check carefully for those options if they matter to you.

What is the 2017 Toyota Camry's resale value?

The current average of $15,081 sits slightly above last year's $14,967.

That small increase suggests the Camry has held value fairly well rather than swinging sharply in either direction. For you as a future seller, that kind of stability is helpful because it points to a market that remains comfortable with this model year’s pricing. It also means you’re less likely to see dramatic depreciation over a short ownership window if you buy at a sensible price.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.85/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Available driver-assistance features include dynamic radar cruise control, lane-departure warning, automatic high beams, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. One important caveat is that it does not have a forward-collision avoidance and prevention system.

Should I buy a 2017 Toyota Camry or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 30.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 49.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.85/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It’s the mature final year of this generation, with strong value and a well-rounded feature set.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $13,941, the 2016 costs less than the current year's $15,081 average.
• It offers a competent hybrid experience with strong space and a solid safety record.

Consider the 2018 if:

• At $17,835, the 2018 costs more than the current year's $15,081 average.
• It brings bolder styling and a more aggressive personality.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, satisfaction, and proven maturity, the 2017 is the smart default. If your budget is tighter, the 2016 can save you money, while the 2018 makes sense if you want the newer look and are willing to pay more for it.
