How much does the 2017 Nissan Altima cost?

Prices have softened 5.74% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,755 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2017 Nissan Altima a good car?

Yes — the 4.9/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its reliability, comfort, and fuel efficiency, and they also like its smooth handling and spacious interior. For you, that makes it a sensible pick if you want a roomy midsize sedan that prioritizes quiet, comfortable commuting over sporty driving. With 26.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2017 Nissan Altima reliable?

Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback highlights reliability, and it also points to a car that feels dependable, comfortable, and efficient in everyday use. That combination suggests you can count on it for routine commuting and longer-term ownership if the specific vehicle has been maintained well.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about the model’s reputation and more about the condition of the individual car you choose.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Nissan Altima?

At 45.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection so you can catch hidden body, suspension, or repair issues. Focus on overall condition, service records, and signs of uneven wear, since those details matter more when a large portion of the market has accident history.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Nissan Altima?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find value.

• Deal availability: 26.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,755 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.74% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $9,606, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Nissan Altima's resale value?

The current average of $9,721 sits slightly below last year's $10,313.

That softer pricing trend suggests the Altima is not holding value as strongly as some rivals, which can be a downside if you plan to sell in a few years. On the other hand, the lower entry price can help you buy in at a more favorable point, which may reduce your total ownership cost.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Nissan Altima or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 26.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 45.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.74% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $9,225, the 2016 costs less than the current year's $9,721 average.
• It offers a refreshed, value-focused cabin with strong comfort and economy.

The bottom line: If you want the better-balanced shopping opportunity, the 2017 is the stronger primary choice because it combines solid owner satisfaction with a lower current average price than many rivals. If your top priority is spending less up front, the 2016 is the better secondary path.
