Used 2017 Nissan Altima for Sale nearOakland, CA

How much does the 2017 Nissan Altima cost?

Prices have softened 7.76% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,747 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2017 Nissan Altima a good car?

Yes — the 2017 Nissan Altima earns a 4.9/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its reliability, comfort, and fuel efficiency, and they also highlight its smooth handling and spacious interior. That lines up well if you want a roomy, efficient midsize sedan that prioritizes quiet, comfortable transportation and everyday practicality over driving excitement. With 25.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2017 Nissan Altima reliable?

Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback emphasizes reliability, and it also points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience for many drivers. That kind of response matters if you want a used sedan you can count on for daily commuting and long-term use. For used buyers, the main risk is less about the overall reputation and more about finding a well-kept example with a clean history and consistent maintenance.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Nissan Altima?

At 45.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

Start with a vehicle history report so you can confirm accident records, title status, and ownership history before you go any further. Then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, with extra attention to body condition, panel alignment, and signs of uneven wear that could point to past damage or deferred maintenance. You should also focus on overall condition inside and out, since the best used Altima is the one that matches its price with a clean record and solid upkeep.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Nissan Altima?

This looks like a moderate market, so you can buy now if the right listing checks your boxes, but selective shopping still matters.

• Deal availability: 25.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,747 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.76% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 45.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $9,594, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Nissan Altima's resale value?

The current average of $9,594 sits slightly below last year's $10,402.

That price movement suggests the model has softened in the used market, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point today. For a future seller, that also means resale upside may be more limited unless you buy well and keep the car in excellent condition. Strong demand from shoppers who value comfort, efficiency, and a good feature set can still support the market, but the current trend favors buyers more than sellers.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Nissan Altima or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 25.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 45.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.76% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $9,236, the 2016 costs less than the current year's $9,594 average.
• It offers a refreshed design with strong value and a comfortable, accommodating cabin.

The bottom line:
You should start with the 2017 if you want the stronger current-market value story and a broad set of listings to compare. If your priority is saving money upfront, the 2016 is the better secondary path, especially if you find one in excellent condition and the lower price matters more than the newer-year market position.
