Summary
With 150 currently listed for sale and an average price of $22,473, 21.3% of 2017 Nissan 370Z listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2017 Nissan 370Z 4.8 / 5 stars.

Why it stands out
The 2017 Nissan 370Z stands out as a straightforward, driver-focused sports car with a long-running reputation for being affordable, reliable, and fun to drive. It has sleek, sporty styling, a tight cockpit, and a layout that puts the emphasis on the driving experience rather than on luxury or gadgetry. For buyers who want a classic two-seat sports car feel, that combination is a big part of its appeal.
What makes the 2017 model especially distinctive is the way it balances performance hardware with everyday usability. The 370Z uses a 3.7-liter V6, and the available six-speed manual includes SynchroRev Match. The car also offers a seven-speed automatic, and the Sport Package adds 19-inch forged alloy wheels, sport brakes, and a viscous limited-slip differential. On the comfort and convenience side, the Touring trim brings heated power-adjustable seats, Bluetooth phone connectivity, aluminum sport pedals, and an eight-speaker Bose audio system, while the Navigation Package adds a hard-drive navigation system, real-time traffic information, a 9.3 GB hard drive for music storage, and a USB port for iPod connectivity.
At the same time, the 2017 Nissan 370Z is not trying to be a modern tech showcase. The source describes it as lacking modern technology, and it also notes huge blind spots and excessive road and engine noise. That makes it best suited to buyers who care more about styling, reliability, and the joy of driving than about the latest infotainment features.

I think the looks are great the interior is dated. Heck even the Nissan kicks has an all LCD gauge cluster and updated interior other than the new seats which hail from the Juke Nismo and just look stuffed in there. All else remains unchanged. Id opt for the automatic as changing gears gets old after a while. They did tune up the exhaust note and made it sound better than the muted 2013-18 models. If you know how to drive the Nismo is for you. Its designed to perform and thats what it does. If you have a drive to work on a freeway with twists and turns this car is a blast. Traffic car no unless you have the auto then its good for both. Its great as a second car if you have family and kids. Single Its hip to pick up chicks and sport around. Great auto x car again if you know how to drive. I love my Nismo so much I made a Murano Nismo out of a 370z best of both worlds family capacity and fiercely fun!

Rev up your driving experience with the 2017 Nissan 370Z! This sleek and stylish coupe delivers thrilling performance with its powerful V6 engine, precise handling, and sharp looks that turn heads on the road. Offering great value for its performance, the 370Z impresses with its sporty appeal and well-appointed interior. However, it falls short on modern tech features compared to some rivals. When considering alternatives, the 370Z stands out against the Mazda MX-5 Miata and the Toyota 86, offering an adrenaline-pumping ride for enthusiasts seeking driving excitement.

Fast, well designed by a Canadian who was born and raised around the Datsun 240Z. Great value! Highly recommended!

Good entry level sports car. If your into an affordable sports car, relatively low on maintenance cost, this is 5/5. It only lacks in luxury for which you want the Infinity or something german.

Is the 2017 Nissan 370Z a good car?
Yes — the 2017 Nissan 370Z earns a 4.8/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise its thrilling performance, precise handling, and sporty design, and many also see it as a strong value as an entry-level sports car. The overview also frames it as a driver-focused two-seat sports car, so it fits you best if you care more about the driving experience than luxury or gadgetry. With 22.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.
Is the 2017 Nissan 370Z reliable?
Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. Review feedback also points to a reliable, dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with drivers highlighting the car’s strong performance and the confidence that comes from a model many buyers feel they can count on. That said, used-car reliability still depends on how the previous owner maintained the car, so a well-kept example is the safer long-term bet.
What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Nissan 370Z?
At 51.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection from a mechanic who can check for signs of prior damage or poor repairs. Focus closely on body panels, alignment, tire wear, and any evidence that the car has been driven hard or modified. Because this is a sports car, condition matters as much as mileage, so a clean, well-documented example is worth waiting for.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Nissan 370Z?
This is a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting a deep buyer’s market.
- Deal availability: 22.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 147 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 3.60% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $20,841, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2017 Nissan 370Z's resale value?
The current average of $22,456 sits slightly below last year's $23,294.
That softer pricing can help you buy at a more favorable entry point, but it also suggests future resale gains may be limited unless you choose a particularly clean, well-kept example. For a future seller, condition and documentation will matter a lot because buyers in this segment tend to reward cars that look and feel cared for. A strong service history and accident-free record can help you stand out when it is time to sell.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2017 Nissan 370Z or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2017 if:
- 22.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 51.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 3.60% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
The bottom line: If you want the 370Z’s classic, driver-first formula and you value a strong owner satisfaction record, the 2017 is a solid year to target. If your priority is stretching your budget, you may want to compare nearby years and focus on the cleanest, best-priced example rather than the newest badge alone.
