How much does the 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class cost?

Prices have softened 7.67% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,240 listings available, which gives you a solid pool to compare prices and conditions.

Is the 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class a good car?

Yes — the 4.78/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise its luxurious feel, strong performance, excellent handling, comfortable ride, and stylish design. It also stands out for the sound system and the overall sense of comfort and prestige that fits a luxury mid-size car. For you, that means it makes the most sense if you want a refined daily driver with a high-end cabin and a strong emphasis on comfort and technology. With 34.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, there are still worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class reliable?

Owners rate it 4.78/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a car that many drivers find dependable over time, with praise centered on its luxurious feel, strong performance, excellent handling, and comfortable ride. That kind of feedback suggests the car can be a satisfying long-term ownership choice if you stay on top of maintenance. For used buyers, the main ownership risk is that premium upkeep can add up, so condition and service history matter a lot.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class?

At 57.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can confirm accident records, title status, and service history before you go any further. After that, prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on a luxury car where repair costs can be high if something has been neglected. Focus closely on overall condition, maintenance documentation, and signs of wear that could turn a good-looking listing into an expensive ownership project.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class?

This is a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting deep bargain-bin pricing.

• Deal availability: 34.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,240 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.67% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 57.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $17,782, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class's resale value?

The current average of $17,782 sits slightly below last year's $19,259.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point. For a future seller, it also means resale value may be more sensitive to condition, mileage, and service history than to age alone. Well-kept examples should hold up better than neglected ones, especially in a premium segment where buyers expect a strong presentation.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.78/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 34.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 57.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.67% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.78/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2018 if:

• At $23,092, the 2018 costs more than the current year's $17,782 average.
• It adds an even more polished luxury experience with stronger overall refinement.

The bottom line: You should start with the 2017 if you want the better value play, especially since prices have eased and there are still plenty of listings to compare. If your budget stretches and you want a newer, pricier alternative with more polish, the 2018 is the secondary path to consider.
