How much does the 2017 Mazda CX-3 cost?

There are 286 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2017 Mazda CX-3 a good car?

Yes — 4.7/5 is a strong user rating for this model year. The 2017 Mazda CX-3 stands out as a small crossover with a driver-focused personality, a stylish design, and a premium feel for the class. It also brings standard safety equipment and Mazda Connect with an 8.8-inch infotainment screen, which helps it feel more polished than many small crossovers.

For you, that means the CX-3 makes the most sense if you want a compact SUV that emphasizes sharp handling, a well-finished cabin, and a more upscale experience in a small footprint. 33.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities in the market.

Is the 2017 Mazda CX-3 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2017 CX-3’s appeal comes from its standard safety equipment and its reputation for delivering a polished, well-equipped experience in a small crossover. Its efficient packaging and strong safety credentials also support confidence for everyday use.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about outright complexity and more about finding one that has been cared for properly, since condition and maintenance history matter a lot in a compact crossover with limited space.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Mazda CX-3?

At 59.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from cars with prior damage. After that, prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially for signs of body repair, uneven panel gaps, and wear that could point to harder use. Focus on overall condition and how well the cabin, infotainment, and exterior have held up, since those details matter most when you’re comparing used examples.

What is the 2017 Mazda CX-3's resale value?

The current average of $14,378 sits slightly above last year's $13,728.

That upward move suggests the market has been willing to pay a bit more for this model year, which is a positive sign if you plan to sell later. The year-round range also shows that values have room to move depending on condition, mileage, and how competitively a listing is priced. If you buy well and keep the vehicle in strong shape, you should have a better shot at holding value when it’s time to trade or sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Mazda CX-3 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 33.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 59.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices are up 4.73% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2018 if:

• At $14,850, the 2018 costs more than the current year's $14,378 average.
• It adds standard low-speed emergency braking and a quieter, more refined cabin.

The bottom line: If you want the better value play, the 2017 is the stronger starting point because it costs less and still has solid demand. If you’re willing to pay more for a newer-year update and a more refined driving experience, the 2018 is the better secondary path.
