Is the 2017 INFINITI QX80 a good car?

Generally — the 2017 INFINITI QX80 earns a 4.4/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its luxury, comfort, and space, and many call out the feature-rich cabin as especially appealing for families. The overview also frames it as a roomy, upscale SUV with strong towing ability and a long list of equipment, which fits buyers who want a family-friendly luxury hauler. Is the 2017 INFINITI QX80 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner summary also points to reliability and service as important parts of the ownership experience, alongside the model’s luxury and comfort strengths. That suggests you should pay close attention to maintenance history and how the vehicle has been cared for over time. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is ending up with a neglected example that may be more expensive to keep in top shape.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 INFINITI QX80?

At 62.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from those with prior damage. After that, prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially on body condition, signs of repair quality, and any wear that could affect long-term ownership. Because this is a large luxury SUV, you should also focus on how well the cabin, electronics, and mechanical systems have been maintained.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 INFINITI QX80?

This looks like a moderate market where selective buyers can still find value if they compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 32.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 512 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.06% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 62.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $15,940, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 INFINITI QX80's resale value?

The current average of $15,976 sits slightly below last year's $18,167.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make future resale more dependent on condition, mileage, and documentation. If you buy well and keep the vehicle in strong shape, you may be better positioned to limit depreciation from here. A clean history and strong maintenance records matter even more when the broader market has softened.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 INFINITI QX80 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 32.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 62.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.06% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should focus on the 2017 if you want a well-equipped full-size luxury SUV and you can verify condition carefully. It offers a strong mix of comfort, space, and feature content, and the current pricing trend makes it more approachable than it was a year ago. If you are especially price-sensitive, a nearby year may be worth comparing, but the 2017 remains a sensible target when you find a clean, well-priced example.
