What should I look for when buying a used 2017 INFINITI QX30?

At 55.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle-history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has any signs of bodywork, uneven panel gaps, or warning lights. Because this model has a premium interior and a fair amount of equipment, you should also focus on how well the cabin features, controls, and electronics are holding up.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Base trim comes with LED headlights, 18-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone automatic climate control, cloth seats, Bluetooth, two USB ports, and a backup camera, while the Sport adds 19-inch wheels, unique fascias, upgraded brakes, suspension and exhaust finishers, and Dinamica sport seats and trim. The Premium adds leather seating, power/heated front seats, and folding mirrors, and the Luxury adds a Bose 10-speaker audio system, rain-sensing wipers, LED fog lights, and heated windshield washers.
• Powertrain: The turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-4 makes 208 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque through a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, with front-wheel drive or available all-wheel drive. Fuel economy is 24 mpg city, 33 highway, 27 combined for FWD and 21 mpg city, 30 highway, 25 combined for AWD.
• Safety package: The available Technology Package adds blind-spot warning, lane-departure warning, high-beam assist, a surround-view monitor with parking sensors, and Intelligent Cruise Control++. The package is a meaningful upgrade if you want more driver assistance.
• Infotainment: The QX30 uses an older single-screen touchscreen system with a basic center-console controller, and the setup is easier to use than some rivals because you can physically touch the screen. The system also includes navigation and map buttons, though the voice-recognition software is dated.

Which 2017 INFINITI QX30 trim should I buy?

The 2017 INFINITI QX30 is offered in 4 trim levels: Base, Luxury, Premium, and Sport.

Here's the short version:

• Base: This is the entry point, but it still gives you LED headlights, dual-zone automatic climate control, Bluetooth, a backup camera, and the core luxury-crossover basics. It makes sense if you want the lowest starting price and can live without the extra comfort and convenience features.
• Luxury: This is the best-value trim if you want the richest feature set without jumping to the sportier model. It adds the Premium equipment plus a Bose 10-speaker audio system, rain-sensing wipers, LED fog lights, and heated windshield washers.
• Premium: This trim is the comfort-focused middle ground, adding leather seating, power/heated front seats, and folding mirrors. It suits you if you want a nicer cabin but do not need the Luxury trim’s extra amenities.
• Sport: This is the most distinctive trim, with 19-inch wheels, unique fascias, upgraded brakes, suspension and exhaust finishers, and Dinamica sport seats and trim. Choose it if you want the most aggressive look and feel, but note that it is FWD-only.

The available Technology Package adds blind-spot warning, lane-departure warning, high-beam assist, a surround-view monitor with parking sensors, and Intelligent Cruise Control++.

Should I buy a 2017 INFINITI QX30 or consider a different year?

• At 55.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.27% compared with last year.

The bottom line: If you want the QX30’s distinctive styling, upscale cabin, and strong safety credentials, the 2017 is the right place to focus. If your priority is simply the lowest possible price, you can still shop this year confidently, but you should be especially selective about condition and accident history.
