Why it stands out
The 2017 INFINITI Q60 enhances the luxury sport coupe experience with its striking design and a commitment to performance that challenges its German rivals. Structural innovations such as a new GT-R-related twin-turbo V6 engine and a retuned 7-speed transmission deliver a more dynamic driving experience. The Q60's elegant yet aggressive styling, alongside a wealth of technology and driver assistance features, solidify its appeal to buyers looking for a blend of luxury and performance.
Despite the impressive features, the car isn't without its criticisms. The second-generation Direct Adaptive Steering, meant to improve handling, has been noted for its lack of natural feedback, which can hinder driver engagement. Nevertheless, the Q60 retains a balance of style, tech, and a powerful engine lineup that keeps it competitive in a challenging segment.

I’ve owned my Q60RS for about a year and a half as of writing this. It’s safe to say that, I really, REALLY like this car. It’s got a perfect mix of mid 2010’s technology combined with all the premier engineering from the Nissan 370z and the Nissan GT-R. The Q60RS in AWD feels light, easy to drive, easy to control, and is so family friendly that once you kick it into Sport and Sport+, you hardly remember that the twin-turbo V6 hiding under the hood is still an absolute monster to be tamed. The car does have its downsides - it’s VERY persistent about warnings and issues that otherwise wouldn’t matter, such as front camera sensors not being available or an occasional check engine light even if nothing is wrong under the hood. Maybe that’s just with my Q60. The car is also a little bit towards the bottom of its league compared to other options in its MSRP price range - namely the 981 Porsche Cayman, the S197-II and S550-I / S550-II Ford Mustang lineup, the Gen 6 Camaro SS, etc. For a $50K-$60K car, I would expect it to be pretty fast if not luxurious - and while the car is both fast and luxurious, it could definitely prove itself a little more in the top speed game. Back in the 2000’s, 400 Horsepower was enough to get you up to 160 - 180MPH range, and by the early 2010’s, that was fairly default (as seen with the 2008 - 2012 Dodge Charger SRT-8, 2007 - 2012 Porsche 911 lineup ((997.1 and 997.2, etc))). This car packs 400 Horsepower exact, but only tops out around 155 Miles an Hour - I’m fairly certain that even the 370Z Nismo marks around that top speed. Regardless of its issues, the car is still an amazing drive - and if you can find one for the right price, I’d definitely recommend going for it. It’s the perfect entry level performance car for the prices it comes around in now (I purchased mine for around $25K @ around 89K Miles - most Q60RS range between $27K - $40K depending on mileage and condition). So, if you’re looking for something thats on par with some of the more popular sports cars of the mid 2010’s, this is definitely a go to!
