CarGurus Analysis: 2017 INFINITI Q60
overall

Summary
With 197 currently listed for sale and an average price of $19,230.00, 24.9% of 2017 INFINITI Q60s for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2017 INFINITI Q60 4.75 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it a 6.67 / 10.
49.2% of 2017 Q60 models on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2017 INFINITI Q60 stands out as a fully redesigned luxury sport coupe that leans heavily on technology, value, and style. Infiniti gave it new engines, a retuned transmission, and the second generation of Direct Adaptive Steering, while also adding a GT-R-related twin-turbo V6. The result is a car that aims to bring more theatre to the segment without abandoning the performance credentials buyers expect.
What makes the 2017 Q60 especially appealing is the mix of striking styling, impressive handling, and a long list of tech features. It is also notable for its fully drive-by-wire setup, which is part of the car’s high-tech character. At the same time, the Q60 is not built around driver involvement in the traditional sense, since it does not offer either a dual-clutch automatic or a manual transmission. That makes it a strong choice for shoppers who want a distinctive, well-equipped coupe, even if pure engagement is not its main calling card.

I’ve owned my Q60RS for about a year and a half as of writing this. It’s safe to say that, I really, REALLY like this car. It’s got a perfect mix of mid 2010’s technology combined with all the premier engineering from the Nissan 370z and the Nissan GT-R. The Q60RS in AWD feels light, easy to drive, easy to control, and is so family friendly that once you kick it into Sport and Sport+, you hardly remember that the twin-turbo V6 hiding under the hood is still an absolute monster to be tamed. The car does have its downsides - it’s VERY persistent about warnings and issues that otherwise wouldn’t matter, such as front camera sensors not being available or an occasional check engine light even if nothing is wrong under the hood. Maybe that’s just with my Q60. The car is also a little bit towards the bottom of its league compared to other options in its MSRP price range - namely the 981 Porsche Cayman, the S197-II and S550-I / S550-II Ford Mustang lineup, the Gen 6 Camaro SS, etc. For a $50K-$60K car, I would expect it to be pretty fast if not luxurious - and while the car is both fast and luxurious, it could definitely prove itself a little more in the top speed game. Back in the 2000’s, 400 Horsepower was enough to get you up to 160 - 180MPH range, and by the early 2010’s, that was fairly default (as seen with the 2008 - 2012 Dodge Charger SRT-8, 2007 - 2012 Porsche 911 lineup ((997.1 and 997.2, etc))). This car packs 400 Horsepower exact, but only tops out around 155 Miles an Hour - I’m fairly certain that even the 370Z Nismo marks around that top speed. Regardless of its issues, the car is still an amazing drive - and if you can find one for the right price, I’d definitely recommend going for it. It’s the perfect entry level performance car for the prices it comes around in now (I purchased mine for around $25K @ around 89K Miles - most Q60RS range between $27K - $40K depending on mileage and condition). So, if you’re looking for something thats on par with some of the more popular sports cars of the mid 2010’s, this is definitely a go to!

Is the 2017 INFINITI Q60 a good car?
Yes — the 2017 INFINITI Q60 earns a 4.75/5 user rating and a 6.67/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Look and feel at 8/10.
The overview frames it as a fully redesigned luxury sport coupe that leans on technology, value, and style, and the expert notes back that up with striking styling, impressive handling, and a long list of tech features. It also fits you best if you want a distinctive, well-equipped coupe rather than a car built around traditional driver involvement, since it does not offer a manual or dual-clutch transmission.
26.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are still some attractive opportunities if you shop carefully.
Is the 2017 INFINITI Q60 reliable?
Owners rate it 4.75/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The overview points to a redesigned model with new engines, a retuned transmission, and a fully drive-by-wire setup, while the expert evaluation highlights a smooth, grunty powertrain and a strong technology focus. The performance notes also suggest the 3.0T engine brings useful efficiency-minded engineering, including direct injection and reduced internal friction, which supports the case for the car’s mechanical sophistication.
If you buy used, the main long-term ownership risk is that the car’s advanced systems may be more important to inspect closely than on a simpler coupe, especially if you plan to rely on the driver-assistance features.
What should I look for when buying a used 2017 INFINITI Q60?
At 47.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has any signs of prior bodywork or electronic-system issues. Pay close attention to how the steering, braking, and driver-assistance systems behave on a test drive, since the expert notes that some of those systems can be intrusive or inconsistent. Focus on overall condition, feature functionality, and whether the car’s tech still works the way you expect.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The base 2.0T includes LED head- and foglights, keyless ignition and entry, dual-zone automatic climate control, 8-way power seats with leatherette, heated mirrors, 19-inch alloys, and a dual-touchscreen interface, while the 2.0T Premium adds a standard sunroof and an upgraded Bose stereo.
- Powertrain: The 2.0T uses a Mercedes-crafted turbocharged 4-cylinder, while the 3.0T brings a 300-hp twin-turbo V6 and the Red Sport 400 raises output to 400 hp; the performance notes also point to 22 city mpg and 30 highway for the RWD 2.0T, 21/28 for AWD, 19/28 for the 300-hp RWD setup, 19/27 for AWD, 20/27 for the 400-hp RWD version, and 19/26 for AWD.
- Safety package: The Driver Assistance package adds parking sensors front and rear, a 360-degree camera view, blind-spot monitoring, auto wipers, and auto braking front and rear with forward-collision warning; the Technology Package adds adaptive cruise, blind-spot intervention, lane departure and intervention, and adaptive headlights with auto high beams.
- Infotainment: The car uses dual touchscreens, and the tech notes call out uneven resolution between them; the system also lacks Apple CarPlay and Android Auto in the described setup.
- Fuel efficiency: The 2.0T returns 22 city mpg and 30 highway in RWD form, or 21/28 with AWD; the 3.0T is rated at 19/28 RWD and 19/27 AWD, while the Red Sport 400 is rated at 20/27 RWD and 19/26 AWD.
Which 2017 INFINITI Q60 trim should I buy?
The 2017 INFINITI Q60 is offered in 5 trim levels: 2.0T, 2.0T Premium, 3.0T Premium, Red Sport 400, Silver Sport.
Here's the short version:
- Base trim: The 2.0T gives you the lowest entry price, but it lacks the upgraded audio and sunroof found higher up, and the safety and convenience packages remain optional rather than standard.
- Sweet-spot trim: The 3.0T Premium is the best value if you want the stronger twin-turbo V6 and access to the more desirable option packages without jumping all the way to the performance-focused top trim.
- Premium/top trim: The Red Sport 400 adds the 400-hp version of the twin-turbo V6, staggered forged wheels, paddle shifters, sport seats, adaptive suspension, and leather, making it the most complete performance-oriented choice.
- Off-road trim: Not applicable for this model.
The safety-package note to keep in mind is that the Driver Assistance and Technology packages add meaningful features, but they are not universal across the lineup.

- Inventory: There are 203 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 5.64% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $17,897.16, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2017 INFINITI Q60's resale value?
The current average of $19,230 sits slightly below last year's $20,380.
That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable point if you plan to keep the car for a while. For a future seller, that also means resale value will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the car’s technology and safety systems hold up over time. A clean history and strong maintenance records should matter more than usual if you want to protect value.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.75/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2017 INFINITI Q60 safe?
It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.
The safety content emphasizes a strong suite of driver-assistance and braking technology, including autonomous braking forward and in reverse, traction and stability control, full-length curtain-side airbags, and a full suite of standard airbags. The Technology Package also adds upgraded seatbelts that lock you in upon clicking them in place and tighten up pre-collision.
The same systems can be a mixed blessing in real-world use, though, because the expert notes that some of the interventions can feel intrusive and should be carefully evaluated on a test drive. The Q60 has not yet been tested by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
