Is the 2017 INFINITI Q60 a good car?

Yes — the 2017 INFINITI Q60 earns a 4.8/5 user rating and a 6.7/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Look and feel at 8/10.

The Q60 is positioned as a fully redesigned luxury sport coupe that leans on technology, value, and style. It brings striking styling and impressive handling, and the overview frames it as especially rich in features for the segment. At the same time, it is not built around old-school driver involvement, so you should expect more tech-forward character than pure enthusiast engagement.

The market shows 29.7% of listings as good or great deals, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2017 INFINITI Q60 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Q60’s overview and expert notes point to a car that was redesigned with new engines, a retuned transmission, and a second-generation Direct Adaptive Steering system, so it feels like a more advanced take on the luxury coupe formula. The performance write-up describes the 2.0T as smooth and grunty, while the 3.0T is presented as a much stronger solution with more torque and better overall pace. The expert notes also say the new engine tech raises some longevity questions, even if the underlying hardware is tied to a proven performance lineage.

The cost-effectiveness notes add that the lower trims can make sense on value, while the mid-level 3.0T and Silver Sport are the strongest bets for shoppers in this segment. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that the car’s more complex tech and steering systems may be more important to inspect closely than the basic mechanicals.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 INFINITI Q60?

At 50.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has any signs of prior bodywork or electronic-system issues. Pay close attention to how the driver-assistance and steering systems behave on a test drive, since the expert notes call out intrusive behavior and occasional odd operation. You should also focus on overall condition and whether the car’s tech features work cleanly, because that is a major part of the Q60’s appeal.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base 2.0T brings LED head- and foglights, keyless ignition and entry, dual-zone automatic climate control, 8-way power seats with leatherette, heated mirrors, 19-inch alloys, and a dual-touchscreen interface, while the 2.0T Premium adds a standard sunroof and an upgraded Bose stereo. The 3.0T Premium adds the twin-turbo V6 and more available luxury and driver-assistance equipment, and the Red Sport 400 adds staggered forged wheels, paddle shifters, sport seats with power bolsters, and adaptive suspension.
• Powertrain: The 2.0T uses a Mercedes-crafted 4-cylinder turbocharged engine with 208 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque, while the 3.0T moves to a 300-hp twin-turbo V6 and the Red Sport 400 gets a 400-hp version of that engine. The performance notes say the 2.0T is smooth but not especially quick for the segment, while the 3.0T is the better solution and the Red Sport 400 is eager and powerful.
• Safety package: The Driver Assistance package adds parking sensors front and rear, a 360-degree camera view, blind-spot monitoring, auto wipers, and auto braking front and rear with forward-collision warning. The Technology Package adds adaptive cruise, blind-spot intervention, lane departure and intervention, and adaptive headlights with auto high beams.
• Infotainment: The Q60 uses dual touchscreens, and the tech notes say the setup works well but can feel confusing because the screens differ in resolution and control logic. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are not described as standard here.
• Fuel efficiency: The 2.0T returns 22 city mpg and 30 highway mpg in RWD form, or 21/28 with AWD. The 3.0T is rated at 19/28 with RWD and 19/27 with AWD, while the Red Sport 400 is rated at 20 city mpg and 27 highway mpg in RWD form, or 19/26 with AWD.

Which 2017 INFINITI Q60 trim should I buy?

The 2017 INFINITI Q60 is offered in 5 trim levels: 2.0T, 2.0T Premium, 3.0T Premium, Red Sport 400, Silver Sport.

Here's the short version:

• 2.0T: This is the entry point if you want the lowest starting price and the core Q60 styling and tech. It gives you the basic luxury-coupe experience, but the performance notes make clear that it is the least compelling choice if you care about pace.
• 2.0T Premium: This is the better-value pick if you want the base car’s affordability with a more complete feature set. The standard sunroof and upgraded Bose stereo make it feel more polished without jumping into the pricier V6 models.
• 3.0T Premium: This is the strongest all-around recommendation for most used buyers. It adds the 300-hp twin-turbo V6 and opens the door to the richer option content that the lower trims cannot get, making it the best balance of performance, luxury, and value.
• Red Sport 400: This is the choice if you want the most power and the most aggressive hardware. It adds the 400-hp engine, adaptive suspension, and sport-focused equipment, but the expert notes suggest it is not the best value unless you specifically want the top performance trim.
• Silver Sport: This later-arriving trim is described as nearly identical to the Red Sport 400 but with skinnier tires and the 300-hp V6. It makes sense if you want a sportier setup than the standard 3.0T Premium without stepping all the way up to the Red Sport 400.

The safety content notes that the Technology Package adds important driver-assistance features, while the Driver Assistance package brings parking sensors, surround-view camera capability, blind-spot monitoring, and automatic braking features.

• Deal availability: 29.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 219 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.31% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 50.2% of listings are accident-free.

What is the 2017 INFINITI Q60's resale value?

The current average of $18,403 sits slightly below last year's $19,641.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the car more attractive to used buyers today but less favorable for a future seller trying to recover a higher purchase price. If you buy at the right number and keep the car in strong condition, you may be able to limit depreciation pressure. The Q60’s styling and feature-rich positioning can help support demand, but the current trend still points to a softer resale environment than a year ago.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2017 INFINITI Q60 safe?

The 2017 INFINITI Q60 has not yet been tested by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

The Q60’s safety content centers on a broad set of available driver-assistance systems, including autonomous braking forward and in reverse, traction and stability control, curtain-side airbags, and a Technology Package that adds upgraded seatbelts that lock you in and tighten up pre-collision. The available systems are extensive, but the expert notes also warn that some of them can feel intrusive or overly sensitive, so you should test them carefully before you buy.

Should I buy a 2017 INFINITI Q60 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 29.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 50.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.31% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The expert summary says Infiniti’s formula here is technology plus value and a bit of theatre, with striking styling, impressive handling, and a lot of tech.

The bottom line: If you want the redesigned Q60’s style, tech, and value story, the 2017 is the year to focus on. It gives you the strongest mix of current pricing, available inventory, and feature content. If you are especially price-sensitive, the lower trims can still make sense, but the 3.0T Premium is the trim most likely to give you the best overall ownership balance.
