How much does the 2017 Honda Ridgeline cost?

Is the 2017 Honda Ridgeline a good car?

Yes — the 2017 Honda Ridgeline earns a 4.88/5 user rating and a 7.5/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Form and function at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise the smooth ride, comfort, and spacious interior, and they also like the practical cargo solutions, including the under-bed trunk. That lines up well with the Ridgeline’s use case as a truck that feels carlike and is aimed at buyers who want everyday refinement and utility rather than a traditional rough-and-ready pickup.

The market also reflects solid interest, with 34.8% of listings marked as good or great deals.

Is the 2017 Honda Ridgeline reliable?

Owners rate it 4.88/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a dependable-feeling ownership experience, with repeated praise for comfort, practicality, and the kind of everyday usability that tends to matter over the long haul. The expert review also emphasizes the Ridgeline’s carlike ride and composed on-road behavior, which supports the impression that it’s built to be easy to live with.

Honda’s own performance notes also suggest a truck engineered for steady, predictable use rather than drama, with precise shifting and a drivetrain tuned to handle pickup duties. If you’re shopping used, the main long-term risk is less about the basic concept and more about finding one that hasn’t been overworked or neglected.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Honda Ridgeline?

At 67% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle-history report and then prioritize a careful inspection of body panels, bed structure, and any signs of prior repair work. Because this truck’s appeal depends heavily on its comfort, practicality, and refined road manners, condition matters a lot more than just mileage alone.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Ridgeline comes only as a 4-door Crew cab with a 5-foot, 4-inch bed, and the cabin is described as upscale with high-quality materials, soft-touch surfaces, and useful cubbies and trays. Higher trims add features like extra noise-canceling insulation, LED headlamps with LED running lamps, heated power front seats, remote start, red ambient lighting, and an 8-speaker 540-watt stereo.
• Powertrain: Every trim uses a 3.5-liter V6 with 280 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque paired with a 6-speed automatic. Front-wheel drive is standard, all-wheel drive is optional on some trims, and the AWD system adds torque-vectoring capability and selectable modes for paved roads, mud, sand, and snow.
• Safety package: Honda Sensing includes adaptive cruise control, forward-collision alert, auto-braking, lane-keep assist, and auto high beams. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is available, and LaneWatch is also available, but those features are restricted to top trims.
• Infotainment: The truck uses an 8-inch touchscreen with HondaLink, reconfigurable tiles, Garmin navigation with live traffic and pinch-to-zoom, single-string voice recognition, and available Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
• Fuel efficiency: The FWD version is rated at 19 mpg city and 26 mpg highway, while AWD versions are rated at 18 mpg city and 25 mpg highway.

Which 2017 Honda Ridgeline trim should I buy?

The 2017 Honda Ridgeline is offered in 7 trim levels: RT, RTS, Sport, RTL, RTL-T, RTL-E, Black Edition.

Here's the short version:

• RT: This is the entry point, and it makes sense if you want the Ridgeline’s core carlike ride and V6 power at the lowest price. It’s the trim to consider if you care most about value and don’t need the richer feature content found higher up.
• RTS: This trim adds a step up in everyday comfort and equipment, making it a better fit if you want a more polished truck without jumping all the way to the upper end of the range.
• Sport: This is the trim to look at if you want a more style-forward version of the Ridgeline while still keeping the same basic mechanical package.
• RTL: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it moves you into a more upscale-feeling cabin and a stronger mix of comfort and convenience features without pushing into the highest-priced versions.
• RTL-T: This trim is a good fit if you want more equipment and a more premium feel while staying below the top luxury-oriented versions.
• RTL-E: This is the trim to choose if you want the most advanced available safety and convenience content, including the features tied to the top trims.
• Black Edition: This is the fully loaded choice, with the most distinctive appearance and the richest feature set, but it makes the most sense only if you want the top-spec experience.

Honda Sensing and the available blind-spot and LaneWatch features are restricted to top trims.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Honda Ridgeline?

• Deal availability: 34.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.34% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $18,723, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Honda Ridgeline's resale value?

The current average of $18,723 sits slightly below last year's $19,990.

That decline suggests the market has become a bit more buyer-friendly, which can make it harder for a future seller to command a premium unless the truck is especially clean, well-equipped, and well maintained. The current pricing also shows that the Ridgeline is still holding a meaningful share of value rather than dropping sharply, which is a positive sign for owners planning to sell later.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.88/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2017 Honda Ridgeline safe?

The 2017 Honda Ridgeline has not yet been crash-tested, but Honda expects a five-star crash-test rating from NHTSA and a Top Safety Pick+ from IIHS.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Honda Sensing includes adaptive cruise control, forward-collision alert, auto-braking, lane-keep assist, and auto high beams. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is also available, and LaneWatch adds a live video feed of the right-side blind spot when you signal. Those features are restricted to top trims.

Should I buy a 2017 Honda Ridgeline or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 34.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 67% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.34% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.88/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2017 Ridgeline stands out as an unusual light-duty truck because it feels entirely like a car while still delivering pickup utility.

The bottom line: If you want the Ridgeline’s distinctive blend of comfort, practicality, and carlike driving manners, the 2017 is a strong choice. If you’re mainly shopping on price, you may want to compare it with nearby model years and focus on the cleanest, best-maintained example you can find.
