Used 2017 Genesis G80 for Sale near Ohio

How much does the 2017 Genesis G80 cost?

Prices have softened 2.32% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 255 listings available, which suggests you should have some room to compare prices and condition.

Is the 2017 Genesis G80 a good car?

Yes — the 2017 Genesis G80 earns a 4.93/5 user rating and an 8/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise its excellent value, impressive technology, and luxurious feel. The overview also points to a premium-feeling sedan with a strong value impression and comfort features that owners often appreciate.

That said, the car’s appeal is strongest if you want a luxury sedan that delivers a lot for the money rather than the most polished cabin in the class. With 30.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market still reflects that value-first positioning.

Is the 2017 Genesis G80 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.93/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a car that feels reliable, dependable, and a good choice for buyers who want something they can count on. The expert review adds that the G80 is engineered to meet the requirements of a comprehensive warranty program, and it notes that the car exceeded EPA fuel-economy estimates in testing.

Genesis also includes free scheduled maintenance with valet service for the first three years of ownership, which helps reduce early ownership hassle. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is making sure the car was maintained properly and that any wear items or electronics still work as intended.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Genesis G80?

At 53.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a careful inspection of bodywork, electronics, and interior condition. Because this model is positioned as a luxury sedan, small flaws in trim, controls, or comfort features can matter more than they would on a mainstream car. It also makes sense to confirm that the safety and convenience systems work correctly, since those features are a major part of the G80’s appeal.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The G80 3.8 is the base version, with a 3.8-liter V6 and rear-wheel drive or AWD, while the G80 5.0 adds the 5.0-liter V8 and a more fully loaded equipment set. The 3.8 is the better-value choice if you want the core luxury experience without paying for the top engine.
• Powertrain: The 2017 G80 is offered with a 3.8-liter V6 or a 5.0-liter V8, both paired with an 8-speed automatic. The V8 brings swift, silent, effortless acceleration, while the V6 gives you the standard setup with available AWD.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes adaptive cruise control with stop and go, forward-collision warning and automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist, and blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic alert. The lane system can show accuracy problems in narrow or changing lane configurations.
• Infotainment: The G80 5.0 uses a 9.2-inch touchscreen, and the Lexicon stereo has 17 speakers. The system is easy to use, but this version does not offer Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.
• Fuel efficiency: The V8 test car averaged 19.3 mpg on the reviewer’s route, beating the EPA estimate of 18 mpg.

Which 2017 Genesis G80 trim should I buy?

The 2017 Genesis G80 is offered in 2 trim levels: 3.8 and 5.0.

Here's the short version:

• 3.8: This is the best-value trim if you want the G80’s luxury feel, standard safety tech, and available AWD without paying for the V8. It gives you the core sedan experience at the lower entry price.
• 5.0: This is the more powerful, fully loaded choice, with the 5.0-liter V8, the 9.2-inch touchscreen, and the 17-speaker Lexicon audio system. Buy this one if you want the strongest performance and the richest feature set.

The standard safety suite is a major part of the G80’s value, so even the lower trim gives you a lot of protection and driver assistance.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Genesis G80?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on a strong listing.

• Deal availability: 30.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 255 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.32% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 53.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $14,811, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Genesis G80's resale value?

The current average of $15,686 sits slightly below last year's $16,058.

That softer pricing suggests the model has already moved through some of its early depreciation, which can help future resale stability if you buy at the right price. A used G80 that is well maintained, clean, and properly equipped should remain easier to market than one with accident history or visible wear. The value story is strongest when you buy below the market average and keep the car in good condition.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.93/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2017 Genesis G80 safe?

The 2017 Genesis G80 earns a Top Safety Pick Plus rating from IIHS and a five-star crash-test rating from NHTSA.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

The standard driver-assistance suite includes adaptive cruise control with stop and go, forward-collision warning and automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist, and blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic alert. The lane system can be less accurate in narrow or shifting lane situations, so that is worth checking during a test drive.

Should I buy a 2017 Genesis G80 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 30.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 53.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.32% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.93/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2017 adds Genesis-branded ownership perks, including free scheduled maintenance with valet service for the first three years.

Consider the 2018 if:

• At $18,677, the 2018 costs more than the current year's $15,686 average.
• It adds a more performance-focused Sport trim with an adaptive suspension and a twin-turbo 3.3-liter V6.

The bottom line: If you want the better bargain, the 2017 is the smarter buy because it delivers strong value, high owner satisfaction, and a lower average price. If you want a more athletic version of the G80 and are willing to pay more, the 2018 is the better path.
