How much does the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica cost?

Prices have softened 7.31% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,985 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica a good car?

Generally — 4.3/5. The expert rating is 8/10, and the model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Form and function.

Owners consistently praise the spacious cabin, safety features, smooth performance, and advanced technology and entertainment options. That lines up well with the Pacifica’s role as a family-focused minivan, especially if you want practicality without giving up a more modern feel. The overview also frames it as a clean-sheet redesign, which helps explain why it stands out as a fresh take on the segment.

33.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so there are still attractive opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica reliable?

Owners rate it 4.3/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction. The owner feedback also points to dependable family use, with praise for the Pacifica as a vehicle people can count on for spacious, comfortable, and smooth everyday driving.

The expert drive notes reinforce that sense of durability by describing it as a thoroughly modern minivan built on an entirely new platform. The cost-effectiveness commentary also frames it as a vehicle meant to serve as your mobile base of operations, which fits the long-haul ownership use case.

At the same time, owner feedback mentions ongoing reliability problems and expensive repairs, so used buyers should pay close attention to service history and ownership records before committing.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Chrysler Pacifica?

At 64.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or one with a lot of family-use wear. Focus on signs of interior abuse, storage-area wear, and any evidence of past collision repair, since condition can vary meaningfully from one listing to the next.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LX comes with standard Bluetooth hands-free calling, a ParkView backup camera, Stow-N-Go seating, active noise cancelation, and the smaller Uconnect 5-inch touchscreen. Touring L adds leather seats, a power rear liftgate, and heated rear seats, while Touring L Plus adds Uconnect Theater with two rear touchscreens and more media inputs. Limited adds front-seat ventilation, navigation, a full-length panoramic sunroof, a built-in vacuum, and 20-inch wheels.
• Powertrain: The Pacifica uses a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 with 287 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque, paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission. It is front-wheel drive, and the platform was designed to accept AWD. EPA estimates are 18 mpg city, 28 highway, and 22 combined.
• Safety package: The available SafetyTec Package adds blind-spot monitoring, ParkSense, and rear cross-path detection. The Advanced SafetyTec Package adds a 360-degree surround-view camera, adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, lane-departure warning, and lane-keeping assist, but it is available only on Touring L Plus and Limited.
• Infotainment: The base LX uses the smaller Uconnect 5-inch touchscreen. The larger Uconnect 8.4-inch touchscreen is optional on Touring L Plus and standard on Limited, and it brings crisp graphics, a tablet-like layout, and customizable controls. Uconnect Theater is standard on Touring L Plus and optional on Limited.
• Fuel efficiency: EPA estimates are 18 mpg city, 28 highway, and 22 combined.

Which 2017 Chrysler Pacifica trim should I buy?

The 2017 Chrysler Pacifica is offered in 5 trim levels: LX, Touring, Touring L, Touring L Plus, and Limited.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the value play if you want the Pacifica’s core strengths at the lowest entry price. You still get Bluetooth, a backup camera, Stow-N-Go seating, and active noise cancelation, but the smaller 5-inch screen and simpler equipment make it the most basic choice.
• Touring: This is the step-up trim if you want a modest price increase without jumping too far up the ladder. It sits between the LX and the more feature-rich trims, so it makes sense if you want a middle-ground Pacifica without paying for the bigger convenience and entertainment upgrades.
• Touring L: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds leather seats, a power rear liftgate, and heated rear seats. If you want a more family-friendly daily driver without moving into the pricier entertainment and luxury features, this is the trim to target.
• Touring L Plus: This is the trim to choose if rear-seat entertainment matters. It adds Uconnect Theater with two rear touchscreens and more media inputs, and it also opens the door to the larger 8.4-inch touchscreen and the Advanced SafetyTec Package.
• Limited: This is the pick if you want the most upscale Pacifica experience. It adds front-seat ventilation, navigation, a panoramic sunroof, a built-in vacuum, and 20-inch wheels, along with the larger 8.4-inch touchscreen as standard.

The Advanced SafetyTec Package is available only on Touring L Plus and Limited, so shoppers who want the most advanced driver-assistance features should focus on those trims.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Chrysler Pacifica?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop, compare, and negotiate.

• Deal availability: 33.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,985 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.31% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 64.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $11,802, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica's resale value?

The current average of $11,808 sits slightly below last year's $12,740.

That softer pricing suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point today. For a future seller, it also means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and equipment rather than on broad market appreciation.

Well-kept examples with desirable features should hold up better than rougher ones, especially because family buyers tend to value space, safety, and convenience equipment. A clean history and strong maintenance record can make a meaningful difference when it’s time to sell.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.3/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica safe?

The 2017 Chrysler Pacifica earns Good ratings from IIHS and five-star ratings from NHTSA.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

All models come standard with a full array of front and side impact airbags, the LATCH child-seat anchoring system, and a standard backup camera. The available SafetyTec Package adds blind-spot monitoring, ParkSense, and rear cross-path detection. The Advanced SafetyTec Package adds a 360-degree surround-view camera, adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, lane-departure warning, and lane-keeping assist, but it is available only on Touring L Plus and Limited.

The safety setup is strong overall, but the most advanced driver-assistance features are not available on every trim, so you’ll want to check equipment carefully if those systems matter to you.

Should I buy a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 33.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 64.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.31% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.3/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• It represents Chrysler’s clean-sheet minivan redesign, with a fresh platform and a modern family-focused identity.

The bottom line: The 2017 Pacifica makes the most sense if you want the first year of Chrysler’s redesigned minivan with strong family utility, modern features, and a softer used-car price. If you’re especially price-sensitive, this year’s lower average price and decent deal availability make it worth a close look, but you should be extra careful about history and condition because accident involvement is common enough to matter.
