How much does the 2017 Chevrolet Suburban cost?

Prices have softened 8.20% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,306 listings available, which suggests you should have a workable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2017 Chevrolet Suburban a good car?

The 2017 Chevrolet Suburban is a strong fit if you want a large, three-row SUV that prioritizes people-moving, cargo-hauling, and towing in one package. It carries up to nine people, offers up to 121.1 cubic feet of cargo space, and can tow up to 8,300 pounds when properly configured.

Its refined interior and available technology help it feel more modern than its size and traditional mission might suggest, and the added safety and convenience features make it especially appealing if you want a full-size SUV with broad capability. The user rating is 3.75/5, which points to a mixed but still respectable ownership experience.

33.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2017 Chevrolet Suburban reliable?

The 2017 Chevrolet Suburban is presented as a capable, well-equipped full-size SUV with a refined interior and a long list of safety and convenience features. It also benefits from the 11th-generation Suburban’s established formula, which emphasizes space, comfort, and utility.

At the same time, its size and thirsty gas engines mean you should expect the usual ownership tradeoffs that come with a large SUV. For used buyers, long-term risk is less about novelty and more about making sure the vehicle has been maintained carefully and used in a way that matches its demanding mission.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Chevrolet Suburban?

At 55.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any reported damage was repaired properly. Then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, with extra attention to body condition, alignment, and signs of uneven wear that could point to past collision repairs or hard use.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Chevrolet Suburban?

This looks like a moderate market where selective buyers can still find value if they shop carefully.

• Deal availability: 33.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,306 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.20% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 55.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $19,391, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Chevrolet Suburban's resale value?

The current average of $19,391 sits slightly below last year's $21,123.

That price movement suggests the market has softened, which can help you buy more selectively now but may also limit upside if you plan to resell soon. For a future seller, the key takeaway is that condition, mileage, and maintenance history will matter even more when the broader market is already trending lower.

Should I buy a 2017 Chevrolet Suburban or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 33.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 55.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.20% compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2017 is a sensible choice if you want the Suburban’s full-size space, towing strength, and updated feature set without stretching to a newer model. If you are especially price-sensitive, a nearby year may be worth comparing, but the 2017 remains a solid target when you find one with clean history and strong condition.
