Used 2017 Chevrolet Equinox for Sale nearSioux Falls, SD

How much does the 2017 Chevrolet Equinox cost?

Prices have softened 5.45% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 3,238 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for shoppers comparing prices and conditions.

Is the 2017 Chevrolet Equinox a good car?

Yes — the 4.8/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners commonly praise the spacious interior, smooth ride, and good value for the price, and they also appreciate comfort features like heated seats and the overall dependability of the vehicle. For you, that makes this a sensible choice if you want a compact crossover with a roomy cabin and an easygoing character. With 29.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still meaningful shopping opportunity if you compare carefully.

Is the 2017 Chevrolet Equinox reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback also highlights the vehicle’s dependability, along with a generally trouble-free ownership experience for many drivers. That said, because the earliest years of this generation drew the most owner complaints, you should pay close attention to maintenance history and current condition before committing to a used example.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Chevrolet Equinox?

At 61.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can confirm accident records, title status, and service history. After that, prioritize a thorough inspection of the body, suspension, and mechanical condition, since the earliest years of this generation drew the most owner complaints. Focus on how the vehicle presents in person, because condition differences can matter a lot in this price range.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Chevrolet Equinox?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully without rushing.

• Deal availability: 29.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,238 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.45% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 61.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $10,129, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Chevrolet Equinox's resale value?

The current average of $10,199 sits slightly below last year's $10,786.

That softer pricing suggests the model has already absorbed some depreciation, which can help future sellers if they buy at the right price today. If you purchase near the lower end of the range and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you may have a better chance of limiting your loss later. Demand should also benefit from the model’s strong owner satisfaction and practical appeal.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Chevrolet Equinox or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 29.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 61.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.45% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2018 if:

• At $12,326, the 2018 costs more than the current year's $10,199 average.
• It shifts to a smaller, more clearly compact SUV design.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2017 if you want the lower price and strong owner satisfaction, especially if you can verify a clean history and solid maintenance. If you’re willing to spend more for the newer redesign and a clearer compact-SUV identity, the 2018 is the better secondary path for buyers who prioritize that update.
