Is the 2017 Buick Enclave a good car?

Is the 2017 Buick Enclave reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that feels comfortable, spacious, and quiet, and those are the kinds of traits buyers often associate with dependable everyday use. The repeated praise for smooth handling and family-friendly comfort suggests many owners feel confident living with it over time.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about the overall ownership experience and more about finding a well-kept example with a clean history and solid maintenance.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Buick Enclave?

At 61.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any reported damage was minor or structural. A pre-purchase inspection should focus on body condition, panel alignment, and signs of poor repairs, since those issues can matter more than cosmetic wear.

It also makes sense to pay close attention to how the SUV drives and shifts, so you can judge whether the example you’re considering feels as composed as it should.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Buick Enclave?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 30.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 979 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.28% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 61.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $11,938, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Buick Enclave's resale value?

The current average of $11,938 sits slightly below last year's $13,306.

That softer pricing suggests future sellers may face a more competitive resale environment than owners did a year ago. If you buy at the right price and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you can help protect your position when it’s time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Buick Enclave or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 30.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 61.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.28% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2018 if:

• At $16,198, the 2018 costs more than the current year's $11,938 average.
• It brings a full redesign with more power, less weight, and a more modern feel.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2017 is the smarter starting point because it combines strong owner satisfaction with a lower average price. If you’re willing to spend more for a redesigned model with a newer feel, the 2018 is the better upgrade path.
