Is the 2017 Audi A6 a good car?

The 2017 Audi A6 is a mixed but appealing choice if you want a refined luxury sedan with a premium feel and a practical side. Its user rating is 3.9/5, and owner feedback commonly highlights its stunning looks, comfortable ride, and high-quality electronics. The A6’s understated styling and well-equipped cabin make it a strong fit if you want luxury without a flashy personality, while the available technology and comfort features add to its everyday appeal. With 35.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2017 Audi A6 reliable?

The 2017 Audi A6 is presented as a refined midsize luxury sedan with a strong premium feel, but owner feedback adds an important caution. Reviewers often praise its comfortable ride and high-quality electronics, while also pointing to high maintenance costs and some performance issues. That combination suggests you should expect a used example to reward careful ownership, but long-term costs can rise if the car has been poorly maintained or already shows wear.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Audi A6?

At 57.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection from a shop that knows luxury sedans. Focus on signs of prior bodywork, uneven panel gaps, electronic glitches, and any evidence of deferred maintenance, since condition and repair history matter a lot on a used A6.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Audi A6?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 35.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 574 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.03% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 57.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $14,362, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Audi A6's resale value?

The current average of $14,372 sits slightly below last year's $15,628.

That price movement suggests the A6 has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help you as a buyer today. If you plan to sell later, the softer market means your return will depend heavily on mileage, condition, and maintenance history. A well-kept example should hold up better than one with visible wear or unresolved repair needs.

Should I buy a 2017 Audi A6 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 35.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 57.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.03% compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2017 A6 makes the most sense if you want a refined, well-equipped luxury sedan and you’re willing to shop carefully for condition and maintenance history. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare it with nearby model years and focus on the cleanest, best-documented example rather than chasing the lowest sticker price.
