How much does the 2016 Toyota RAV4 cost?

Prices have held steady compared to this time last year, signaling a stable and predictable market for this model year.

There are 2,569 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2016 Toyota RAV4 a good car?

Yes — owners rate it 4.62/5, which points to strong overall satisfaction. In owner feedback, the most common positives are reliability, fuel efficiency, and a comfortable ride, with safety features also standing out. That fits well if you want a practical compact SUV that emphasizes everyday usefulness over flash. With 33.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2016 Toyota RAV4 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.62/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback repeatedly highlights reliability, and the review summary also points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience for many drivers. That kind of long-term confidence matters if you plan to keep the vehicle for years rather than just a short stint. For used buyers, the main risk is less about the model’s reputation and more about finding one with a clean history and consistent maintenance.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Toyota RAV4?

At 52.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can screen for accidents, title issues, and ownership patterns before you get too far into the process. After that, prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing price looks unusually attractive. Focus your condition check on signs of prior bodywork, uneven wear, and anything that suggests the vehicle has had a harder-than-average life.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Toyota RAV4?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 33.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,569 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 52.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $15,393, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Toyota RAV4's resale value?

The current average of $16,127 sits slightly above last year's $16,081.

That small increase suggests the market has stayed stable rather than swinging sharply in either direction. For a future seller, that kind of pricing pattern can be helpful because it points to steady demand instead of a weakening market. The model’s strong owner satisfaction also supports buyer interest when it comes time to resell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.62/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Toyota RAV4 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 33.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 52.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.62/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $14,772, the 2015 costs less than the current year's $16,127 average.
• It offers practical everyday appeal with strong cargo space and efficiency.

The bottom line: If you want the better-balanced choice, the 2016 is the stronger pick because it brings the refreshed update and still sits in a stable pricing environment. If your priority is spending less upfront, the 2015 is the better value path, especially if you find one in strong condition and can live without the newer-year updates.
