Used 2016 RAM 3500 for Sale near New Mexico

How much does the 2016 RAM 3500 cost?

Prices have softened 9.14% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 404 listings available, which gives you a modest pool of trucks to compare.

Is the 2016 RAM 3500 a good car?

Yes — 4.75/5 is a strong user rating, and it lines up with the truck’s appeal as a heavy-duty pickup that still feels comfortable and well equipped. Owners commonly praise its power for towing, its decent fuel economy, and its comfort, especially in single rear wheel configurations. That fits the 2016 RAM 3500’s role as a spacious, capable truck for buyers who need serious work-truck ability without giving up everyday usability. With 26.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2016 RAM 3500 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.75/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owners describe it as reliable, powerful, and well suited to heavy-duty tasks like towing, which suggests you can count on it for demanding use if it has been maintained properly. The same feedback also points to comfort and decent fuel economy as part of the ownership experience. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about the truck’s core capability and more about how hard it was worked and whether wear items were kept up over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 RAM 3500?

At 64.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean trucks from those with accident records or repeated claims. After that, prioritize a thorough inspection of the suspension, steering, tires, and braking components, since heavy-duty use can accelerate wear. It also makes sense to focus on overall condition and maintenance evidence, especially if the truck was used for towing or other demanding work.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 RAM 3500?

This is a moderate market, so you can shop selectively without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 26.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 404 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.14% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $31,980, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 RAM 3500's resale value?

The current average of $32,480 sits slightly below last year's $35,747.

That decline suggests the market has become a bit more favorable for buyers, but it also means a future seller may need to price competitively to stand out. The truck’s strong reputation for towing and comfort should help support demand, especially among shoppers who need heavy-duty capability. If you keep mileage, maintenance, and condition in good shape, you should be in a better position to protect value when it’s time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.75/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 RAM 3500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 26.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 64.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.14% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.75/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2016 RAM 3500 is a strong choice if you want heavy-duty capability, a comfortable cabin, and a market that has softened enough to create some buying opportunities. If you’re price-sensitive, you should still compare nearby years and focus on the cleanest, best-maintained truck you can find, because condition and history matter a lot in this segment.
