Is the 2016 Porsche Panamera a good car?

Yes — the 5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. The overview describes it as a luxury sports sedan that blends Porsche performance with real-world practicality, while also emphasizing generous passenger space, a more modern interior, and a broad lineup that includes six-cylinder, eight-cylinder, and plug-in hybrid versions.

That mix makes it appealing if you want speed, upscale cabin quality, and everyday usability in one package. The market also shows 31.3% of listings as good or great deals, which suggests there are still attractive opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2016 Porsche Panamera reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview points to a well-rounded luxury sedan with strong standard equipment, a modern interior, and a lineup built around Porsche’s eight-speed PDK dual-clutch automatic transmission. It also highlights the car’s practicality and upscale feel, which are good signs for buyers who want a premium vehicle that can serve daily duties.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is the cost of maintaining a premium performance car, especially if you choose a higher-output version.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Porsche Panamera?

At 71.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection from a Porsche-savvy mechanic. Focus on body condition, signs of prior repair, and whether the car’s luxury and performance features are working as they should.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Porsche Panamera?

This is a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting a deep buyer’s-market discount.

• Deal availability: 31.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 195 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.69% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 71.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $25,278, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Porsche Panamera's resale value?

The current average of $25,577 sits slightly below last year's $26,556.

That decline suggests the market has eased, which can help you buy more confidently now but may also limit short-term upside if you plan to resell soon. For a future seller, the softer pricing means condition, mileage, and equipment will matter even more when it comes time to attract buyers.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Porsche Panamera or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 31.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 71.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.69% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2017 if:

• At $40,270, the 2017 costs more than the current year's $25,577 average.
• The redesign brings a sharper look and more advanced technology.

The bottom line: If you want the better value play, the 2016 is the stronger starting point because it combines a lower average price with solid deal availability. If you’re willing to pay much more for the newer-generation redesign and its added tech and performance polish, the 2017 is the upgrade path; otherwise, the 2016 is the smarter choice for price-sensitive buyers.
