CarGurus Analysis: 2016 Nissan 370Z

Summary
With 130 currently listed for sale and an average price of $21,715.00, 32.3% of 2016 Nissan 370Zs for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2016 Nissan 370Z 4.8 / 5 stars.
56.9% of 2016 370Z models on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2016 Nissan 370Z stands out as a compact, driver-focused sports car with a long-running reputation for being affordable, reliable, and fun to drive. It has sleek, timeless styling and a tight cockpit, and its appeal is rooted more in the driving experience than in modern gadgetry. For buyers who want a straightforward performance car with a cult following, that combination is a big part of the 370Z’s charm.
What makes the 2016 model especially distinctive is how much performance it delivers in a relatively simple package. The 370Z was a two-seat, front-engine, rear-wheel-drive car, and the Base and Touring trims used a 3.7-liter V6 with 332 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque, paired with either a six-speed manual or a seven-speed automatic. The Sport Package added 19-inch forged alloy wheels, sport brakes, SynchroRev Match on the manual transmission, and a viscous limited-slip differential. The 2016 model also benefited from the 2015 updates that brought Bluetooth to the base trim and standard navigation to the Touring trim.
At the same time, the 2016 Nissan 370Z is not trying to be a tech showcase. The source notes a lack of modern technology, no Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, and limited convenience for phone connectivity compared with newer cars. It also has huge blind spots and excessive road and engine noise, and owners echo concerns about blind spots, limited storage space, and fuel efficiency. For shoppers who value driving enjoyment over everyday polish, though, those compromises are part of what makes the 2016 370Z feel like a true enthusiast car.

Couldn’t be more pleased with this car. It is the Nismo edition so I knew what to expect as far as ride and handling but was surprised at how comfortable it actually is. Easily a daily. And a fun one at that!

Only thing I dislike is the blind spot and the fuel mileage, considering using it as a daily.

You have to understand what you are getting- this is a 2 seater sports car. There is very little storage space, so this will not be the vehicle of choice for that cross country car drive. But for rolling the windows down, and just cruising on a scenic drive (maybe some winding roads) this is perfect. There is enough horsepower to have fun. Overall I am happy with it.

2016 Nissan 370Z Price Trends
CarGurus tracks the prices of millions of used car listings every year. See how the average price of 2016 Nissan 370Z prices has changed over time.
See more price trendsHow much does the 2016 Nissan 370Z cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $21,742 |
| Year-Round Low | $20,241.70 |
| Year-Round High | $21,969.86 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $21,418 |
| Change vs. Last Year | +1.51% |
Prices are up 1.51% year-over-year — a sign of continued demand for this model year.
There are 132 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare.
If you find a listing below $20,241.70, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
Is the 2016 Nissan 370Z a good car?
Yes — 4.8/5. Owners consistently praise the thrilling driving experience, nimble handling, and strong performance, and many also say it can work well as a daily driver. The 2016 370Z fits you best if you want a compact, driver-focused sports car with a straightforward, enthusiast-first personality rather than a tech-heavy setup. With 34.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have some room to shop selectively.
Is the 2016 Nissan 370Z reliable?
Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The owner feedback also points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience for many drivers, with the car’s long-running reputation helping reinforce confidence over time. That said, used buyers should still expect age-related wear to matter more than flashy features, so condition and maintenance history remain important.
What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Nissan 370Z?
At 57.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has been modified or driven hard. Focus on body condition, panel alignment, tire wear, and signs of track use or neglected maintenance, since those details can matter more than mileage alone on a sports car like this.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Nissan 370Z?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly when a strong listing appears.
- Deal availability: 34.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 132 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices are up 1.51% year-over-year.
- Clean inventory: 57.6% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $20,241.70, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2016 Nissan 370Z's resale value?
The current average of $21,742 sits slightly above last year's $21,418.
That upward move suggests the market still values this model year, which can help support resale if you buy carefully and keep the car in strong condition. Because the 370Z appeals to enthusiasts, clean examples with good history and honest presentation tend to hold buyer interest better than rough or heavily modified ones.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2016 Nissan 370Z or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2016 if:
- 34.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 57.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices are up 1.51% year-over-year.
- Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
The bottom line: If you want the 370Z’s core appeal — strong performance, simple enthusiast-focused character, and solid owner satisfaction — the 2016 is a sensible place to shop. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby years and focus on the cleanest, best-documented example rather than chasing the lowest sticker price alone.
