Used 2016 MINI Cooper for Sale nearSaint Paul, MN

How much does the 2016 MINI Cooper cost?

Prices have softened 5.96% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 571 listings available, which gives you a solid pool to compare prices and conditions.

Is the 2016 MINI Cooper a good car?

Yes — the 4.67/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Reviewers consistently praise its fun driving experience, sporty design, and responsive handling, and many also call out its peppy power and comfortable interior. In practical terms, that makes it a strong fit if you want a small car with personality, especially since the 2016 MINI Cooper is aimed at buyers who value distinctive style and an engaging drive more than maximum practicality. With 35.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, you also have a decent chance of finding a competitively priced example.

Is the 2016 MINI Cooper reliable?

Owners rate it 4.67/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Reviewers describe it as fun, sporty, and responsive, and the feedback also points to a comfortable interior that holds up well for everyday use. That said, the model’s reliability record is a real consideration for used buyers, so you should weigh ownership history carefully before committing.

For a used purchase, the main long-term risk is ending up with a car that has been enjoyed hard but not maintained with the same care.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 MINI Cooper?

At 59.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from cars with accident records. After that, prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially on bodywork, alignment, and signs of uneven wear that can hint at past damage or poor repairs. You should also focus on overall condition, since a small premium car like this can be more sensitive to neglected maintenance and cosmetic shortcuts.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 MINI Cooper?

This is a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting deep bargain-bin pricing.

• Deal availability: 35.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 571 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.96% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 59.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $10,602, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 MINI Cooper's resale value?

The current average of $11,092 sits slightly below last year's $11,794.

That softer pricing suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point. If you plan to resell later, the current trend means your future value will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the car has been maintained. A clean history and strong presentation matter more when the market is already showing some price pressure.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.67/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 MINI Cooper or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 35.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 59.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.96% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.67/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $9,700, the 2015 costs less than the current year's $11,092 average.
• It adds a 4-door option while keeping the MINI's playful, athletic character.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger current-market balance of price, inventory, and owner satisfaction, the 2016 is the better default choice. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2015 is the smarter value play, especially if you find one in good condition and can live with its tradeoffs.
