What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Lexus NX?

At 53.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report on any promising listing and confirm whether prior damage was repaired properly. Put inspection priority on body panels, alignment, paint consistency, and signs of uneven wear that could point to past collision work. Because some owners mention a noisy ride and the NX can feel small, focus on overall condition and how the vehicle drives on your test route.

The current average of $18,322 sits slightly below last year's $18,862.

That softer pricing suggests the model is still competitive in the used market, but not immune to broader depreciation. If you buy well and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you should be better positioned when it comes time to sell. The NX’s comfort, efficiency, and Lexus reputation help support steady demand among used luxury SUV shoppers.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.12/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Lexus NX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 36.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 53.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.86% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.12/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $17,460, the 2015 costs less than the current year's $18,322 average.
• It emphasizes bold styling and strong safety with efficient operation.

The bottom line: If you want the better-balanced shopping opportunity, the 2016 is the stronger primary target because pricing has eased and owner satisfaction is solid. If your top priority is spending less upfront, the 2015 is the better secondary path, especially if you find one in excellent condition.
