That upward move suggests the market has held value reasonably well, which can help if you plan to sell later. A tighter supply of attractive listings can also support pricing for clean, well-kept examples. If you buy carefully and keep the car in strong condition, you may be better positioned when it’s time to trade or sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Lexus GS or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 29.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 48.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices are up 2.45% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want this generation of GS and can verify a clean, well-maintained example, the 2016 is a reasonable primary target because the market still shows solid demand and a meaningful share of fairly priced listings. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby years and focus on whichever one gives you the best combination of condition, history, and asking price.
