How much does the 2016 INFINITI Q50 cost?

Prices have softened 2.50% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 456 listings available, which gives you a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2016 INFINITI Q50 a good car?

Yes — the 2016 INFINITI Q50 earns a 5/5 user rating and a 6.67/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Technology and Safety.

Owners consistently praise its performance, power, and comfort, and they also call out its handling and spaciousness. That lines up with the overview: you’re looking at a stylish luxury sports sedan that can appeal if you want a mix of performance and luxury, especially in stronger versions. Even so, some owners are less enthusiastic about the infotainment system and steering feel.

With 27.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, there’s enough market activity to make comparison shopping worthwhile.

Is the 2016 INFINITI Q50 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a car that feels reliable, dependable, and long-term satisfying, with many drivers describing it as a vehicle they can count on. On the road, the expert review reinforces that sense of durability through its smooth-shifting transmission and composed ride quality, both of which support everyday dependability.

The review also notes a first-year maintenance perk on the lease side, which can help reduce early ownership friction. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is making sure prior maintenance and wear items were handled consistently, especially on higher-mileage examples.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 INFINITI Q50?

At 44.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a car with a lower price or a long option list. Pay close attention to bodywork quality, panel alignment, tire wear, and any signs that the car’s electronics or driver-assistance features were repaired after a collision. Condition matters a lot here because the Q50’s appeal depends heavily on how well it has been maintained and whether its premium features still work as intended.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The 2.0t Premium is described as a lease-special type of entry model, but it lacks leather seats, navigation, and safety-related driver-assistance systems as standard equipment. That makes the higher trims more appealing if you want a better-equipped cabin and more convenience features.
• Powertrain: The 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder makes 208 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque, uses a 7-speed automatic, and includes idle stop technology. The review says it is decent but not especially energetic, while the stronger 3.0t, Sport, and Red Sport 400 are the better picks if driving enjoyment matters most.
• Safety package: The available Driver Assistance package adds predictive forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking, rear automatic emergency braking, moving-object detection, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. Higher trims can also add blind-spot intervention, lane-departure warning with lane-departure prevention, active lane control, adaptive headlights, and pre-crash seat belts.
• Infotainment: The dual-screen system is paired with a 14-speaker Bose premium audio system in Premium models. It does not include Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, and the voice-recognition system drew criticism for being less effective than smartphone-based alternatives.
• Fuel efficiency: The review cites 26.3 mpg on a test loop and an official combined rating of 26 mpg.

Which 2016 INFINITI Q50 trim should I buy?

The 2016 INFINITI Q50 is offered in 5 trim levels: 2.0t, 3.0t, Sport, Hybrid, Red Sport 400.

Here's the short version:

• 2.0t: This is the entry point, and it makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the Q50 lineup. The trade-off is that the review describes it as the least compelling choice for driving enjoyment, and the Premium version still leaves out some desirable equipment unless you add packages.
• 3.0t: This is the better all-around choice if you want more performance without jumping all the way to the top of the range. The review specifically points to the 3.0t as one of the stronger picks for maximum driving enjoyment.
• Sport: This is the best-value performance-oriented choice if you want a sharper Q50 without going straight to the Red Sport 400. It is also one of the trims called out for additional driver-assistance availability.
• Hybrid: Choose this if you want a more efficiency-minded version of the Q50, though the provided review focuses less on this trim than on the performance models.
• Red Sport 400: This is the top performance pick, and it is the right choice if you want the strongest version of the Q50 lineup. It is also included among the trims that can get the expanded driver-assistance features.

For safety equipment, the Driver Assistance package is the key add-on to look for, and some of the more advanced driver-assistance features are reserved for the 3.0t, Hybrid, Sport, and Red Sport 400.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 INFINITI Q50?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 27.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 456 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.50% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 44.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $13,247, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 INFINITI Q50's resale value?

The current average of $13,619 sits slightly below last year's $13,968.

That softer pricing suggests the Q50 has already absorbed some of its near-term depreciation, which can help future sellers if they buy at the right price. If you purchase near the lower end of the range and keep the car in strong condition, you may have a better chance of limiting your loss when it’s time to sell. The market still rewards well-kept examples, especially those with desirable equipment and clean history.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2016 INFINITI Q50 safe?

The 2016 INFINITI Q50 earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

The available Driver Assistance package includes predictive forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking, rear automatic emergency braking, moving-object detection, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. Higher trims can add blind-spot intervention, lane-departure warning with lane-departure prevention, active lane control, adaptive headlights, and pre-crash seat belts.

One important caveat is that the review notes the frontal-impact test ratings were not carried forward for 2016, so you should pay close attention to the specific equipment on any used example you’re considering. If you want the most complete safety setup, look for a car with the available driver-assistance content rather than assuming every Q50 has it.

Should I buy a 2016 INFINITI Q50 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 27.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 44.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.50% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2016 update made the Q50 feel more like a legitimate luxury sports sedan, with stronger tech and a more polished overall character.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $12,680, the 2015 costs less than the current year's $13,619 average.
• It offers a wide range of personalities, from comfortable all-weather cruiser to fast sports sedan.

The bottom line: If you want the better-rounded Q50, the 2016 is the smarter target because it brings the updated character and still sits in a relatively approachable price band. If your priority is saving money first, the 2015 can make sense, but you should be ready to give up some of the refinement and update-driven appeal that make the 2016 easier to recommend.
