Is the 2016 GMC Yukon a good car?

Yes — the 2016 GMC Yukon earns a 4.71/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its spaciousness, strong horsepower, smooth ride, and user-friendly features. It also fits well if you want a practical family hauler with a roomy, well-appointed cabin and a more upscale feel than many large SUVs. With 32.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2016 GMC Yukon reliable?

Owners rate it 4.71/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback highlights a vehicle that many people find dependable, comfortable, and enjoyable over time, with praise centered on its smooth ride and strong performance. The same feedback also suggests you should pay attention to wear items and overall condition, especially on higher-mileage examples. For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk is more about individual vehicle history and maintenance than the model’s broad appeal.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 GMC Yukon?

At 60.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from those with prior damage. After that, prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, with extra attention to tires, body condition, and signs of uneven wear. Because some owner feedback mentions tire-condition concerns, it makes sense to focus on maintenance records and overall cosmetic and mechanical condition before you commit.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 GMC Yukon?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile opportunities.

• Deal availability: 32.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,427 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.73% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 60.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $19,647, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 GMC Yukon's resale value?

The current average of $19,647 sits slightly below last year's $21,526.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can make future resale a little more sensitive to mileage, condition, and maintenance history. If you buy well and keep the vehicle in strong shape, you may be better positioned when it’s time to sell. A clean history and solid upkeep matter even more when the broader market has already softened.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.71/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 GMC Yukon or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 32.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 60.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.73% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.71/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line:

The 2016 is a strong choice if you want a full-size SUV with a roomy cabin, strong owner approval, and a market that has become more favorable for buyers. If you’re price-sensitive, you can also consider nearby years and compare condition, accident history, and asking price closely, since the best value may come from the cleanest, best-maintained example rather than the newest badge.
