What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Ford Fusion Hybrid?

At 54.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report on any promising listing and confirm whether prior damage was cosmetic or structural. Put a pre-purchase inspection near the top of your checklist, especially if the car is priced below the market average or has incomplete service records. Focus on overall condition, repair quality, and maintenance consistency rather than price alone.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Ford Fusion Hybrid?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market: there’s enough inventory and deal activity to shop with leverage, but the best examples still deserve quick attention.

• Deal availability: 30.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 159 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 2.16% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 54.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $8,458, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Ford Fusion Hybrid's resale value?

The current average of $9,976 sits slightly above last year's $9,765.

That modest increase suggests the model has held value reasonably well in the near term. If you buy at a fair price and keep the car in strong condition, you should be in a better position when it comes time to sell. For future resale, maintenance history and accident-free status will matter a lot because shoppers in this segment tend to compare condition closely.

Should I buy a 2016 Ford Fusion Hybrid or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 30.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 54.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices are up 2.16% year-over-year.

The bottom line:
The 2016 is a sensible choice if you want a used hybrid with a manageable average price and enough listings to compare. If you’re price-sensitive, keep an eye on the lower end of the range and prioritize clean history and condition over chasing the cheapest listing.
