Generally — the 2016 Ford Fusion earns a 4.1/5 user rating, which points to broad owner satisfaction. Is the 2016 Ford Fusion reliable?

Owners rate it 4.1/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

That said, used buyers should still budget for age-related wear and verify maintenance history carefully, since long-term ownership risk depends heavily on how each individual car was treated.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Ford Fusion?

At 53.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you buy so you can separate clean cars from those with prior damage. Focus on overall condition, repair quality, and signs of uneven wear rather than relying on mileage alone.

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on strong listings.

• Deal availability: 28.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,508 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.62% compared with last year.

What is the 2016 Ford Fusion's resale value?

The current average of $8,904 sits slightly below last year's $9,239.

That softer pricing suggests the model is still accessible on the used market, but it also means future sellers may not see rapid appreciation. If you buy well and keep the car in strong condition, you can help protect your exit value. Cars with steady demand and broad appeal tend to hold up better when it is time to sell.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.1/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Ford Fusion or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 28.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 53.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.62% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.1/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $7,985, the 2015 costs less than the current year's $8,904 average.
• It stands out for distinctive styling that gives the sedan a more memorable look.

The bottom line: You should start with the 2016 if you want the stronger current-market balance of price, inventory, and owner satisfaction. If your main goal is to spend less upfront, the 2015 is the better value-oriented alternative, especially if you find one in excellent condition.
