There are 969 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2016 Ford Expedition a good car?

Yes — the 2016 Ford Expedition earns a 4.5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners commonly praise the smooth ride, spacious interior, and comfortable family-friendly layout, and many also note its quiet operation and favorable fuel efficiency for a large SUV. For you, that makes it a strong fit if you want a roomy three-row SUV with real utility and a comfortable road feel. With 32.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still room to shop selectively.

Is the 2016 Ford Expedition reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback also points to dependable day-to-day comfort, with praise centered on the smooth ride and spacious cabin that make it easy to live with over time. At the same time, some owners mention reliability concerns and dealer-service dissatisfaction, so used buyers should pay close attention to maintenance history and overall condition before committing.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Ford Expedition?

At 64% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you buy so you can confirm accident records, title status, and ownership history. A pre-purchase inspection should be a priority, especially if the SUV has higher mileage or signs of heavy family or towing use. Focus on overall condition, because a large SUV like this can hide wear in the suspension, brakes, and interior more easily than a smaller vehicle.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Ford Expedition?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 32.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 969 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.89% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 64.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $13,057, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Ford Expedition's resale value?

The current average of $13,088 sits slightly below last year's $13,760.

That price movement suggests the market has softened, which can make resale a little more challenging if you buy at the wrong point in the range. If you plan to sell later, your best protection is to buy carefully and avoid overpaying now. Well-kept examples with clean history should hold up better than average because shoppers still value this SUV’s space and utility.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Ford Expedition or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 32.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 64% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.89% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $11,445, the 2015 costs less than the current year's $13,088 average.
• It keeps a familiar design with a meaningful efficiency-minded powertrain update.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger current-market balance of price, inventory, and owner satisfaction, the 2016 is the better starting point. If your priority is spending less upfront, the 2015 is the more budget-friendly path and still gives you the Expedition’s core strengths.
