Used 2016 Chevrolet Traverse for Sale nearPortland, OR

How much does the 2016 Chevrolet Traverse cost?

Prices have softened 11.11% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,380 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2016 Chevrolet Traverse a good car?

Yes — the 4.5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. The 2016 Traverse is built around family use, with a huge cabin, a usable third row, and minivan-like cargo capacity, so it makes the most sense if you want space and everyday utility above all else. It also offers a broad spread of comfort and convenience features, especially in higher trims, which helps it fit the needs of shoppers who want a roomy three-row SUV. 30.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2016 Chevrolet Traverse reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2016 Traverse’s main concern is its reputation for electrical, power steering, engine, and transmission issues, so reliability is not its strongest trait. That makes a careful pre-purchase inspection especially important if you plan to keep the vehicle for the long haul.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Chevrolet Traverse?

At 58.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. Put extra inspection priority on the electrical system, power steering, engine, and transmission, since those are the areas most worth scrutinizing on this model year. Focus on overall condition and maintenance records, because a well-kept example is more likely to reduce ownership surprises.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Chevrolet Traverse?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 30.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,380 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.11% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 58.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $8,668, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Chevrolet Traverse's resale value?

The current average of $8,681 sits slightly below last year's $9,766.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point. For a future seller, it also means resale value may depend heavily on condition, mileage, and maintenance history rather than just the badge alone. Well-kept examples should hold up better than neglected ones, especially in a market where buyers have plenty of choices.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Chevrolet Traverse or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 30.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 58.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.11% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2016 Traverse makes the most sense if you want maximum interior space and a family-friendly three-row SUV at a lower used price. If you’re especially price-sensitive, this year is worth targeting because the market has softened and there are still plenty of listings to compare, but you should be selective about condition and history. If you want the safest path, prioritize the cleanest, best-documented example over the cheapest one.
