Used 2016 Chevrolet Traverse for Sale nearFort Lauderdale, FL

How much does the 2016 Chevrolet Traverse cost?

Prices have softened 10.67% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,439 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2016 Chevrolet Traverse a good car?

Yes — 4.5/5 is a strong user rating for this model year. The 2016 Chevrolet Traverse stands out as a very large three-row crossover that prioritizes space and family usefulness over flash, with a huge cabin, a third row with just over 33 inches of legroom, and a maximum cargo volume of 116.4 cubic feet. It also brings real utility with a 3.6-liter V6, a six-speed automatic transmission, and towing capacity of up to 5,200 pounds.

That makes it a strong fit if you want a roomy, practical used SUV for passengers, cargo, and everyday family duties. 28.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2016 Chevrolet Traverse reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2016 Chevrolet Traverse’s reliability record is a weak point, with a reputation for electrical, power steering, engine, and transmission trouble. That means you should treat condition and maintenance history as especially important when evaluating a used example.

For used buyers, the long-term ownership risk is higher than average if the vehicle has been poorly maintained or has unresolved mechanical issues.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Chevrolet Traverse?

At 58.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether the car has any accident, title, or service-record issues. After that, prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, with extra attention to the drivetrain, steering, electrical systems, and transmission behavior. Focus on overall condition and maintenance consistency, since those factors matter more when a model has known reliability concerns.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Chevrolet Traverse?

This is a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 28.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,439 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.67% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 58.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $8,970, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Chevrolet Traverse's resale value?

The current average of $8,970 sits slightly below last year's $10,041.

That softer pricing suggests the model has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help limit near-term downside if you buy at the right price. For a future seller, the key will be how well the vehicle is maintained and documented, since buyers will likely be cautious about condition on a model with known reliability concerns. A clean history and strong service records should help support demand when it’s time to resell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Chevrolet Traverse or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 28.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 58.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.67% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2016 Chevrolet Traverse makes the most sense if you want maximum space, family-friendly utility, and a price that has already moved lower. If you’re shopping carefully and can verify a clean history, this year is a sensible primary target. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby years to see whether a better-maintained or better-priced example gives you more confidence for the money.
