How much does the 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe cost?

Prices have softened 12.36% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,164 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe a good car?

Yes — 4.89/5 is a strong user rating for this model year. Owners consistently praise the comfort, spaciousness, and high-end features, and many also like the smooth ride and strong performance. That lines up well with the Tahoe’s role as a roomy, family-friendly full-size SUV that can handle daily use, towing, and long trips. With 31.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a value-focused example.

Is the 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe reliable?

Owners rate it 4.89/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that feels dependable in everyday use, with praise for its trouble-free comfort, strong performance, and overall satisfaction over time. That kind of response suggests you can count on it as a long-term family SUV if the specific example has been maintained well. For used buyers, the main ownership risk is less about the model’s appeal and more about the condition of the individual vehicle you choose.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe?

At 56.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, since accident history can affect both long-term value and repair risk. Put inspection priority on body condition, panel alignment, and signs of past repairs, then confirm that the cabin electronics, infotainment, and convenience features all work as expected. It also makes sense to focus on overall maintenance records and wear items, because a large SUV like this can hide expensive issues if it has been used hard.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 31.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,164 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.36% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 56.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $17,972, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe's resale value?

The current average of $17,977 sits slightly below last year's $20,512.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point today. For future resale, the key is to choose a clean, well-kept example, because condition will matter even more once you decide to sell. A model with strong owner satisfaction can still attract steady demand, especially if it presents well and has a clean history.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.89/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 31.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 56.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.36% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.89/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2016 Tahoe is a strong choice if you want a roomy, comfortable, and well-liked full-size SUV at a softer price than last year. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare it with nearby model years and focus on the cleanest, best-maintained example rather than chasing the lowest sticker price alone.
