How much does the 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe cost?

Prices have softened 12.99% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,196 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe a good car?

Yes — the 4.89/5 user rating points to very strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise the comfort, spaciousness, high-end features, smooth ride, and strong performance, and many also describe it as a great value. For you, that means the Tahoe fits especially well if you want a roomy, capable full-size SUV for family duty, towing, and everyday comfort. With 32.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe reliable?

Owners rate it 4.89/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also describes it as reliable, dependable, and a vehicle people feel good about keeping for the long term. That matters if you want a used SUV you can count on for regular family use, road trips, and towing. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the specific vehicle has been well maintained and not worn down by heavy use.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe?

At 56.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can confirm accident records, title status, and ownership history before you get too far into the process. After that, prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially on a large SUV that may have seen family hauling, towing, or frequent daily use. Focus on overall condition, signs of wear, and whether the vehicle feels consistent with its mileage and asking price.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find value.

• Deal availability: 32.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,196 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.99% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 56.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $17,976, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe's resale value?

The current average of $17,976 sits slightly below last year's $20,659.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the Tahoe more attractive to buyers now but may also limit upside for a future seller if prices stay soft. If you buy at the right price and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you can help protect your resale position. Demand should remain supported by the Tahoe’s strong owner satisfaction and broad appeal among shoppers who want a full-size SUV.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.89/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 32.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 56.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.99% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.89/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line:

The 2016 is the right path if you want a well-liked Tahoe with strong owner satisfaction, a softer price than a year ago, and enough inventory to shop selectively. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby years and focus on the cleanest, best-maintained example rather than chasing the lowest sticker price alone.
