Used 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD for Sale nearColumbia, SC

How much does the 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD cost?

Prices have softened 7.40% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 493 listings available, which gives you a modest pool to compare before you commit.

Is the 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD a good car?

The 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD stands out as a heavy-duty truck that blends serious capability with a more modern, usable feel than earlier versions. Chevrolet gave it its own styling, separate from the Silverado 1500, and improved the ride and handling enough that it was described as a cut above other large trucks.

For you, that means this truck makes the most sense if you want a work-focused heavy-duty pickup that still feels reasonably current. It also offers useful tech such as a larger standard touchscreen and Chevrolet’s MyLink infotainment system, plus a roomy and comfortable cabin in higher trims.

The market shows 26.6% of listings as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD reliable?

The 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD is described as generally reliable when it has been maintained properly. That matters because this truck was built for hard use, and its heavy-duty mission means condition and upkeep can vary a lot from one example to the next.

For you, the key takeaway is that a well-kept truck can be a solid long-term choice, but neglected examples may bring higher ownership risk because heavy-duty trucks often lead harder lives.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD?

At 69.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report on any truck you’re seriously considering and pay close attention to signs of prior bodywork or hard commercial use. A pre-purchase inspection should focus on overall condition, maintenance records, and whether the truck’s wear matches its mileage and intended use. Because this is a heavy-duty pickup, you’ll want to prioritize mechanical health and evidence of careful ownership over cosmetic appeal alone.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD?

If you find a listing below $32,367, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD's resale value?

The current average of $32,367 sits slightly below last year's $34,953.

That price movement suggests the truck has softened enough to help you buy more carefully, but it also means future resale may depend heavily on condition, mileage, and configuration. If you plan to sell later, a well-maintained example should hold up better than one with visible wear or a rough service history. For you, the safest path is to buy the cleanest truck you can find, because heavy-duty buyers tend to reward documented upkeep.

Should I buy a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 26.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 69.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.40% compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2016 Silverado 3500HD is a strong choice if you want a heavy-duty truck with serious towing ability, useful tech, and a more modern feel than older versions. If your priority is value, this year looks appealing enough to shop now; if you’re especially price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby years and focus on the cleanest, best-documented truck rather than the cheapest one.
