Is the 2016 Chevrolet Express Cargo reliable?

For used buyers, that usually means the bigger risk is less about broad owner disappointment and more about finding a specific vehicle with the right maintenance history and condition.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Chevrolet Express Cargo?

At 66.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report on any candidate you’re serious about and prioritize listings with clear records. A pre-purchase inspection is especially valuable here, since condition can vary widely from one work vehicle to another. Focus on signs of heavy use, repair quality, and whether the van’s current condition matches its asking price.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Chevrolet Express Cargo?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 27.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 579 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.68% compared with last year.

What is the 2016 Chevrolet Express Cargo's resale value?

The current average of $13,539 sits slightly below last year's $14,989.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable point if you plan to keep the vehicle for a while. For a future seller, it also means resale value may depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the vehicle has been maintained. If you buy well and keep the van in strong shape, you may be better positioned when it’s time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Chevrolet Express Cargo or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 27.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 66.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.68% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest balance of price, inventory, and owner satisfaction, the 2016 is a sensible primary choice. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby years to see whether a lower asking price outweighs the 2016’s current market position.
