How much does the 2016 BMW M4 cost?

Prices have softened 2.69% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 202 listings available, which gives you a useful amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2016 BMW M4 a good car?

Yes — the 2016 BMW M4 earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to very strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its sharp handling, powerful performance, and stylish design, and many also like the manual transmission option and the car’s excellent braking. It fits especially well if you want a compact high-performance coupe that still feels usable day to day. With 29.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive price.

Is the 2016 BMW M4 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also highlights the manual transmission option for its reliability, along with the car’s strong performance and well-liked driving character. That said, used performance cars can vary a lot in how they were maintained, so your long-term ownership risk depends heavily on service history and how hard the car was driven.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 BMW M4?

At 52% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean cars from those with collision records or repeated claims. Then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on the brakes, suspension, steering, and any signs of aftermarket modifications. Because this is a performance model, condition matters more than mileage alone, so pay close attention to maintenance records and how the car presents mechanically and cosmetically.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 BMW M4?

This is a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting a deep buyer’s market.

• Deal availability: 29.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 202 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.69% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 52.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $39,708, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 BMW M4's resale value?

The current average of $40,907 sits slightly below last year's $42,036.

That softer pricing can help you buy more carefully now, but it also suggests future sellers may face some pressure if the market stays similar. If you keep the car in strong condition and maintain it well, you’ll be in a better position to protect value when it’s time to sell. Demand should remain supported by the model’s strong owner satisfaction and performance reputation.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 BMW M4 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 29.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 52% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.69% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of value, owner satisfaction, and current market availability, the 2016 is a solid primary choice. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby years and focus on the cleanest, best-documented example rather than chasing the lowest sticker price.
