Used 2016 BMW 2 Series for Sale near Washington

How much does the 2016 BMW 2 Series cost?

Prices have softened 5.20% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 337 listings available, which suggests a modest but workable amount of inventory for shoppers.

Is the 2016 BMW 2 Series a good car?

Yes — the 2016 BMW 2 Series earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to very strong owner satisfaction.

Owners consistently praise the power, handling, and sporty feel, and they also like that it still works well as a daily driver. The overview backs that up by framing it as a compact, rear-wheel-drive sports coupe with real enthusiast appeal and usable everyday features.

That combination makes it a strong fit if you want a small premium car that prioritizes driving enjoyment without giving up basic comfort. With 33.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2016 BMW 2 Series reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a car that feels dependable in the ways that matter to enthusiasts: strong performance, satisfying handling, and everyday usability. At the same time, the recurring mentions of high maintenance costs and premium fuel remind you that ownership can be more expensive than the purchase price suggests.

For used buyers, that means long-term risk is less about outright satisfaction and more about making sure the specific car has been maintained carefully.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 BMW 2 Series?

At 54.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. Then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has been driven hard or shows signs of uneven wear.

Focus on overall condition, maintenance records, and evidence of careful ownership, since those factors matter more when you’re shopping a sporty premium coupe.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 BMW 2 Series?

This is a moderate buyer’s market, so you can shop selectively and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 33.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 337 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.20% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 54.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $15,702, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 BMW 2 Series's resale value?

The current average of $16,063 sits slightly below last year's $16,944.

That decline suggests the market has become a bit softer, which can work against sellers who are trying to maximize trade-in or private-party value. If you plan to sell later, the current pricing trend implies you may not see rapid appreciation from this model year.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 BMW 2 Series or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 33.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 54.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.20% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $14,918, the 2015 costs less than the current year's $16,063 average.
• It emphasizes sharp driving dynamics and near-perfect balance.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger current-market balance of price, inventory, and owner satisfaction, the 2016 is the better primary target. If your priority is spending less upfront, the 2015 is the more budget-friendly alternative and still keeps the core driving character intact.
