Is the 2016 Audi A6 a good car?

Yes — the 2016 Audi A6 earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners most often praise its performance, comfort, handling, acceleration, and luxurious interior, and many say it feels especially well suited for long trips. That lines up with its role as a premium midsize sedan that balances comfort and sportiness without being flashy. Is the 2016 Audi A6 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a dependable-feeling ownership experience, with praise centered on performance, comfort, and features that make the car easy to live with over time. The same reviews highlight a luxurious interior and strong highway manners, which are the kinds of traits buyers often associate with trouble-free daily use. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the specific car you choose has been maintained well and still feels solid in the areas owners care about most.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Audi A6?

At 61.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from cars with accident records. After that, prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially for signs of uneven wear, repair quality, or anything that suggests the car has had a harder life than the listing implies. Focus your attention on overall condition, because a premium sedan like this is best bought on maintenance history and present condition, not just on price.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Audi A6?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find value.

• Deal availability: 33.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 499 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.29% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 61.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $12,744, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Audi A6's resale value?

The current average of $13,032 sits slightly below last year's $14,057.

That softer pricing can help you buy more confidently now, but it also means future resale will depend heavily on how well the car is kept. If you choose a clean, well-maintained example, you’re more likely to preserve value than if you buy one with accident history or visible wear. Strong demand for this model’s comfort, performance, and upscale feel should help support interest from future shoppers.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Audi A6 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 33.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 61.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.29% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line:

The 2016 is a strong choice if you want the refreshed version of this generation with broad owner approval, a softer price than a year ago, and enough inventory to shop selectively. If your priority is stretching your budget as far as possible, a nearby year may be worth comparing, but the 2016 stands out as the better pick when you want a well-liked balance of comfort, performance, and value.
