Is the 2016 Audi A6 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a car that feels dependable in daily use, with owners repeatedly calling out its comfort, performance, and trouble-free ownership experience. The same reviews also suggest it’s a model people feel confident keeping for the long term, especially when they value a premium driving experience. For used buyers, that means your biggest ownership risk is less about the overall reputation and more about finding a well-kept example with a clean maintenance history.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Audi A6?

At 58.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, since accident history can affect both condition and future resale value. Put inspection priority on signs of prior bodywork, uneven panel gaps, and any wear that suggests the car has been repaired or neglected. You should also focus on overall condition inside and out, because a premium sedan like this is best bought when the maintenance record and cosmetic condition both line up.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Audi A6?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 34.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 504 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.93% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $12,744, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Audi A6's resale value?

The current average of $12,978 sits slightly below last year's $13,651.

That price movement suggests the model has softened enough to create a more buyer-friendly entry point, but it also means future sellers may need to price carefully to stay competitive. If you buy well now, you may have less downside risk than someone who paid closer to last year’s average. Strong condition and a clean history will matter even more if you want to protect value later.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Audi A6 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 34.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 58.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.93% compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2016 is the right pick if you want a well-rated A6 with softer pricing and a broad set of listings to compare. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you may also want to compare nearby years to see whether a lower average price or cleaner inventory better fits your priorities.
