How much does the 2015 Toyota RAV4 cost?

Prices are up 1.26% year-over-year — a sign of continued demand for this model year.

There are 2,094 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2015 Toyota RAV4 a good car?

Yes — it earns a 4.9/5 user rating and a 7.3/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Form and function and Cost effectiveness.

Owners consistently praise its reliability, spaciousness, and impressive fuel economy, and they also call out its good handling and comfortable ride. The overview points to the same strengths: practical everyday usefulness, high fuel economy, and generous cargo space. That makes it a strong fit if you want a compact crossover that is easy to live with rather than especially exciting.

There are 33.0% good and great deals in the market, so you still have room to shop carefully.

Is the 2015 Toyota RAV4 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback repeatedly points to reliability, and the expert notes say trouble is unlikely to find the RAV4 because it rates highly for dependability, quality, and reliability. The performance write-up also describes the engine as peppy and refined, which supports the sense that the drivetrain is built for steady everyday use. Toyota’s free scheduled maintenance for the first 2 years or 25,000 miles adds another ownership perk.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about outright failure and more about finding a well-kept example that has been maintained properly.

What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Toyota RAV4?

At 51% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle-history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing price looks unusually attractive. Focus on condition, maintenance records, and signs of prior bodywork or uneven wear, since the market includes a meaningful number of vehicles with accident histories. If you are comparing multiple examples, the cleanest one is often worth paying a little more for.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LE, XLE, and Limited trims differ in appearance and equipment, and the base version misses some of the nicer cabin touches and convenience features found higher up the range.
• Powertrain: Every version uses a 176-hp, 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine with a 6-speed automatic, and the setup is peppy and refined but can feel a bit underpowered from a stop.
• Safety package: Every version gets a rear-view camera, while blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane-departure warning are reserved for the optional Technology Package on the Limited trim.
• Infotainment: The available Entune setup uses a 6.1-inch touchscreen and includes smartphone-app features, but the interface can be frustrating to use.
• Fuel efficiency: The RAV4 is estimated at 25 mpg in combined driving, and the expert test drive returned 26 mpg during mostly highway use.

Which 2015 Toyota RAV4 trim should I buy?

The 2015 Toyota RAV4 is offered in 3 trim levels: LE, XLE, and Limited.

Here's the short version:

• LE: This is the simplest way into the RAV4 lineup, so it makes sense if you want the core space, efficiency, and everyday usefulness without paying for extras.
• XLE: This is the best-value choice if you want a nicer balance of equipment and price, since it adds more comfort and convenience without jumping to the top trim.
• Limited: This is the one to choose if you want the most features, especially because the optional Technology Package with blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane-departure warning is available only here.

The safety-package note is important: the most desirable active safety features are tied to the Limited trim and its optional Technology Package.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Toyota RAV4?

This is a moderate market, so you can shop selectively without expecting a deep buyer’s market.

• Deal availability: 33.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,094 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 1.26% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 51.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $13,928, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2015 Toyota RAV4's resale value?

The current average of $14,612 sits slightly above last year's $14,430.

That modest increase suggests the RAV4 has held demand well enough to support pricing. For a future seller, that is a useful sign: if you keep mileage reasonable and maintenance records organized, you should have a better chance of attracting shoppers who value the model’s reputation for practicality and efficiency. The market also shows steady interest rather than a sharp drop-off, which helps resale stability.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2015 Toyota RAV4 safe?

The 2015 RAV4 earns a Top Safety Pick rating from IIHS and a four-star overall rating from NHTSA, with a three-star protection rating for the front passenger in the frontal-impact assessment.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Every version gets a rear-view camera, which helps with reversing. If you want blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, or lane-departure warning, you need the optional Technology Package on the Limited trim. Toyota also does not offer active cruise control or active braking on this model year, and the expert notes call out the missing Safety Connect telematics system as another gap.

Should I buy a 2015 Toyota RAV4 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2015 if:

• 33.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 51% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices are up 1.26% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Improved crash-test ratings help lift its standing among compact crossovers.

Consider the 2014 if:

• At $13,524, the 2014 costs less than the current year's $14,612 average.
• It is a practical crossover with class-leading cargo capacity and a reputation for being dependable.

The bottom line: The 2015 is the better pick if you want the stronger overall package and can accept a modest price premium. If your priority is saving money first, the 2014 is the value alternative, especially if you find a clean, well-maintained example.

How does the 2015 Toyota RAV4 compare to the 2015 Honda CR-V?

Our experts score the 2015 Toyota RAV4 7.3/10 and the 2015 Honda CR-V 8.5/10. The CR-V has the edge if you want stronger overall refinement, more power, and better fuel economy. The RAV4 counters with a lower average used price and a slightly larger pool of listings, so it can still make sense if you want to spend less and shop more broadly.
