Summary
With 101 currently listed for sale near Kansas City, MO and an average price of $15,136.00, 41.6% of 2015 Toyota RAV4s for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2015 Toyota RAV4 4.88 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it a 7.33 / 10.

Why it stands out
The 2015 Toyota RAV4 stands out as a compact crossover that combines perky drivability, high fuel economy, and generous cargo space in a package that is easy to like. Those strengths make it especially appealing to buyers who want a practical SUV that can handle everyday errands and road trips without feeling cumbersome.
It is also helped by improved crash-test ratings, which raise its standing among other vehicles in the class. At the same time, it is not the most exciting choice in the segment, and its lack of extra punch keeps it from being the standout recommendation for shoppers who want more personality or performance. Even so, for loyal Toyota buyers and anyone prioritizing space, efficiency, and a reassuring overall balance, the 2015 RAV4 remains a solid option.

The RAV4 drives great and has most of the features I wanted. The only things I would add is rear air conditioning and cross bars on the roof rack. It drives smooth and gets incredible gas mileage for an AWD vehicle. Im quite happy with my purchase and cant wait for the first big roadtrip!

How much does the 2015 Toyota RAV4 cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $14,882 |
| Year-Round Low | $13,935.85 |
| Year-Round High | $14,965.11 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $14,639 |
| Change vs. Last Year | +1.66% |
Prices are up 1.66% year-over-year — a sign of continued demand for this model year.
There are 1,975 listings available, which gives you a decent amount of choice while you shop.
If you find a listing below $13,935.85, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
Is the 2015 Toyota RAV4 a good car?
Yes — the 2015 Toyota RAV4 earns a 4.88/5 user rating and a 7.33/10 expert rating.
The model scores 9/10 across Form and function and Cost effectiveness.
Owners consistently praise its reliability, spaciousness, and impressive fuel economy, and they also call out its good handling and comfortable ride. That lines up with the overview: you get a practical compact crossover that works well for everyday errands and road trips without feeling cumbersome. For you, that means the RAV4 makes the most sense if you want a sensible, easy-to-live-with SUV rather than something sporty or flashy.
The market also shows 31.2% good or great deals, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.
Is the 2015 Toyota RAV4 reliable?
Owners rate it 4.88/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
Owner feedback points to reliability, dependability, and a vehicle that feels trouble-free and easy to count on over time. The expert drive notes also reinforce that theme by saying trouble is unlikely to find the RAV4, with strong dependability and reliability ratings from major consumer sources. On top of that, the first scheduled maintenance visit is on the house, which helps reduce early ownership costs.
For used buyers, the main long-term risk is making sure a specific example has been maintained well, since even a dependable model can become expensive if prior care was inconsistent.
What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Toyota RAV4?
At 53.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from ones with prior damage. After that, prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on bodywork quality, panel alignment, and signs of uneven wear. Because this model is often bought for practicality, you should also pay close attention to cabin condition, cargo-area wear, and whether the features you want are actually present on the trim you’re considering.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The lineup includes LE, XLE, and Limited. The base version is the most stripped-down, while the higher trims add more comfort and convenience equipment. The Limited is the one tied to the optional Technology Package, so if you want the most advanced safety features, that trim matters most.
- Powertrain: Every RAV4 uses a 176-hp, 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine with a 6-speed automatic. It is peppy and refined, but it can feel a bit underpowered from a stop. Sport mode sharpens response, and the estimated 25 mpg combined is a useful efficiency benchmark.
- Safety package: Every version gets a rear-view camera. Blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane-departure warning are tied to the optional Technology Package on the Limited trim, while active cruise control and active braking are not offered.
- Infotainment: The available Entune setup uses a 6.1-inch touchscreen and includes smartphone-app features, Internet radio, HD Radio, traffic, and weather information. The interface can be frustrating to use, with tiny buttons and occasional responsiveness issues.
- Fuel efficiency: The RAV4 is estimated at 25 mpg combined, and the test vehicle returned 26 mpg during mostly highway driving.
Which 2015 Toyota RAV4 trim should I buy?
The 2015 Toyota RAV4 is offered in 3 trim levels: LE, XLE, and Limited.
Here's the short version:
- LE: This is the entry point if you want the RAV4’s core strengths at the lowest cost. You still get the practical packaging, strong fuel economy, and rear-view camera, so it makes sense if you care most about value and everyday usefulness.
- XLE: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds more comfort and convenience without pushing you all the way to the top of the range. It is the sweet spot if you want a nicer daily driver but do not need the most advanced safety add-ons.
- Limited: Choose this if you want the most upscale feel and the ability to add the Technology Package. That package is the only path to blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane-departure warning.
The safety package’s most desirable features are limited to the top trim with the optional Technology Package.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Toyota RAV4?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you should shop with a clear target and be ready to move on a strong listing.
- Deal availability: 31.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 1,975 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices are up 1.66% year-over-year.
- Clean inventory: 53.2% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $13,935.85, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2015 Toyota RAV4's resale value?
The current average of $14,882 sits slightly above last year's $14,639.
That modest increase suggests the market has held up reasonably well for this model year. For you as a future seller, that means the RAV4 is not showing signs of a steep value drop, which is helpful if you plan to trade it in or sell privately later. Its combination of practical appeal and steady demand should continue to support pricing better than many less popular crossovers.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.88/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2015 Toyota RAV4 safe?
It earns a Top Safety Pick rating from IIHS and a four-star overall crash-test rating from NHTSA.
It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.
Every version gets a rear-view camera, but blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane-departure warning are only available with the optional Technology Package on the Limited trim. Active cruise control and active braking are not offered at all, which limits the RAV4’s advanced safety ceiling for this year. The safety story is improved by the stronger crash-test result, but the feature set still trails some rivals.
Should I buy a 2015 Toyota RAV4 or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2015 if:
- 31.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 53.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices are up 1.66% year-over-year.
- Owners rate it 4.88/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- Improved crash-test ratings raise its standing among compact crossovers.
Consider the 2014 if:
- At $13,851, the 2014 costs less than the current year's $14,882 average.
- It is a dependable, practical crossover with class-leading cargo capacity.
The bottom line: If you want the stronger all-around package, the 2015 is the better pick because it combines solid value, strong owner satisfaction, and improved safety. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2014 is the better budget play, especially if you find one in clean condition.
