Is the 2015 Mazda MAZDA6 a good car?

Yes — the 2015 Mazda MAZDA6 earns a 4.9/5 user rating and an 8.7/10 expert rating. The model scores 10/10 across Look and feel and Safety.

Owners consistently praise its stylish design, reliable performance, and comfortable interior. For used buyers, that means the bigger risk is less about the model’s reputation and more about how well a specific example has been cared for over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2015 Mazda MAZDA6?

At 47.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a hands-on inspection of body panels, paint consistency, and any signs of prior repair. It also makes sense to focus on maintenance records and a thorough test drive, since condition can vary a lot from one used example to another. If you find evidence of prior damage, make sure the repair quality matches the asking price.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Sport models have cloth seats, while Touring adds leatherette, dual-zone automatic climate control, a 6-way power driver’s seat, rear air conditioning and heat vents, keyless passive entry with push-button start, 19-inch aluminum wheels, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. Grand Touring adds leather seats, heated front seats, a power sunroof, bi-Xenon headlights with LED running lights, a navigation system, and a Bose Centerpoint Surround Sound system.
• Powertrain: Every Mazda6 uses a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine with direct fuel injection and a higher compression ratio. It makes 184 horsepower and 185 lb-ft of torque, and the car is offered with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic depending on trim.
• Safety package: Touring includes blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. Grand Touring adds Smart City Brake Support, and the available Technology Package adds Mazda Radar Cruise Control, Forward Obstruction Warning, lane-departure warning, automatic high-beam headlights, and active grille shutters.
• Infotainment: The infotainment system includes a 5.8-inch color touchscreen display, Bluetooth calling and music streaming, text-messaging support, Pandora Internet radio compatibility, HD Radio, voice-controlled MazdaConnect services, a USB port, and available navigation.
• Fuel efficiency: The EPA gives models without i-ELOOP 26 mpg city and 38 mpg highway. With the Technology Package, those figures rise to 28 mpg city and 40 mpg highway.

Which 2015 Mazda MAZDA6 trim should I buy?

The 2015 Mazda MAZDA6 is offered in 3 trim levels: Sport, Touring and Grand Touring.

Here's the short version:

• Sport: This is the entry point, and it keeps the car’s core appeal intact with the standard 2.5-liter engine and manual transmission. It makes the most sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the Mazda6 and do not need the extra comfort and safety equipment found higher up.
• Touring: This is the best-value trim because it adds a lot of everyday usability, including leatherette, dual-zone climate control, a power driver’s seat, keyless entry with push-button start, rear vents, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. If you want the sweet spot between price and equipment, this is the trim to target.
• Grand Touring: This is the most upscale version, with leather seats, heated front seats, a sunroof, navigation, bi-Xenon headlights, and the Bose audio system. It is the right pick if you want the most comfort and technology the model offers.

Grand Touring also gets Smart City Brake Support, while Touring can add it through an option package.

Should I buy a 2015 Mazda MAZDA6 or consider a different year?

Choose the 2015 if:

• 33.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 47.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.33% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2015 stands out for its sharp styling, upscale look, and engaging driving dynamics.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $12,359, the 2016 costs more than the current year's $11,270 average.
• It brings a sleeker, more upscale personality with strong practical appeal.

The bottom line: If you want the better value today, the 2015 is the smarter buy because it combines strong owner satisfaction, solid expert scores, and a softer used price. If you are willing to spend more for a newer model year, the 2016 is the secondary path to consider.
